Great Vid... I knew the 2 panal short cut and with this excellent instruction it took me 15 mins to get the old battery out of my 2011 RTS yesterday... did have to bend that 1 retainer clip up just...
Yup - my Battery is 5 yrs old too. Probably be a good preventive measure to have it replaced when I get it serviced... looks like they have to tear about half the bike Tupperware and rear end apart...

Low mileage '11... Paid for... I like this bike... new machine would cost about $3500/yr ...that would make a sizable...
Interest ? Yeah right... 1% tops (0.5% after taxes in The Peoples Republic of NY), lol.. but regardless the emergency fund idea may be the only option...
Just got off the phone with BRP.. they don't offer anything through B.E.S.T. beyond 5 years. Suggested I inquire at dealership to see if they offer anything. Will do Monday but I suspect they don't....
Beyond 5 years through Cam Am ?
Purchased the Can Am extended warranty when I got my RTS in 2011 it will expire next month 4/2016.. Does Cam Am offer anything to extend it further... Or other options ??? Thanks !

Take a heat gun to the fold for a minute. Bend/mold to a perfect fit. Watched a friend do his.
Installed the LED arrow mirror signals a few weeks ago. Ran the wires behind the mirror not inside the housing, drilled a small hole throught the bike side of the housing after pushing the mirror...
I was there when the poster discovered this on his RT. I'll bet that shock was centered when it came through the dealership and shifted after it got a few miles on it on the road. Without the spacer...
Now that's great to hear. Just what I was hoping for. My backseat navigator may just become the cb radioman too.
I like that. I've been telling them they cost about a truck load of paper government money in $100 dollar bills but they are still cheap if you pay with real money, only about 15 kugerands.
Curious how it would work with the little antenna it comes with for talking to bikes within a few hundred feet. We ride in small groups of 2, 3 or 4 very close to each other and the other 3 bikes...
No just want wife (primarily) or self to be able to talk to other very near-by bikes on our group rides. Don't care about intercom.
Too much crotch bindage with one piece suits, makes your voice go way to high:yikes:
Anyone use one of these handheld units for your passanger (the boss) to communicate with your riding friends using there $1500 cb's. Don't know much about cb's as you can tell. but would like to...
Mine has one but it is always coming lose, poping out of the hole.
I agreed with Scotty "ASAP". Done today by my dealer.
Agree about the dealer attaboy. But how would you know about this if he didn't call?
7/20/11 Anyone else just get a call from dealer on software recall update for 2011 RTS
Tried mine also twice. Got the "LIMP HOME" screen for just a second both times before the radio came on. It played OK for about 15 mins while I played with the worthless radio, I'll have to stick...
Looks like is sucks :(, but wouldn't mind seeing a Spyder made to look like a motorcycle with 3 wheels instead of a snowmobile, Tupperwareless. But I do like snowmobiles too so they could keep making...
Will it mute the Ipod on both the head set and dash speakers or just the headset. Don't like headsets.
Gonna be 90+ all week mine are off in the am.... and....
Took the air deflectors under the Spyder mirrors off today, 2 screws each. Added a washer to each when screws were replaced. Should let lots...
Do you gain anything by taking them apart vs. drilling a small hole and fishing the wire through. Suckers must be hollow and have lots of room in there.:dontknow:
But we are in NYS and everything is regulated and has been legislated on, including the time for bathroom breaks, so red may very well be required here. I'll be shocked if it is not, actually...
Yes you must be 65.:lecturef_smilie: I'm near Oneonta south eastern Otsego County.
Anyone remove their RT air deflectors under the mirrors for summer riding. How did it work out. I Need more air.
