I share the same goal. I'm trying to achieve a bit more VSS "flexibility" at low speeds when turning the handlebars (at a reasonable angle) and accelerating.
IMHO, the spitting and sputtering when...
FWIW, I purchased some wire taps and I plan to experiment with dampening/reducing the Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) voltage feedback. This would maintain the VSS function but delay the throttle kill...
2009 GS with 560 miles (purchased it a month ago with 80 miles from first owner).
Problems so far:
Broken/stuck shock adjuster. Dealer replaced under warranty.
First check engine light -...
From reading past threads, I thought that issue was resolved - unplug all four wheel sensors. No?
TwoBros released three different dyno-tuned maps for the JB Pro, each with different intake/exhaust modifications. But, yes, custom tuning would be nice.
You could always rent dyno time and make...
Watch the video Lamont posted. The AFR changes as the map is adjusted at ~5K RPM.
Yes, JB Pro modifies the injector signal whether in open or closed loop mode.
Thanks for clarifying the criteria for exiting closed loop mode.
How much is the Power Commander going for? I see one selling on eBay for $325.
JB Pro is selling for $268 at 58cycle.
JB is a simple open loop controller (no O2 sensor reading). JB Pro is a closed loop controller (unless WOT). All maps revert to open loop at WOT. :)
Also, JB Pro and Power Commander maps are...
How is this product better than TwoBro's Juice Box Pro?
:joke:
Why are you asking the dealership? Squat down and look at the identification plate.
:agree:
I had the same question when I purchased my phantom. The model # and VIN # are listed on the identification plate near the rear wheel.
Would a simple 12v heater pad for $20 work? Just need to purchase a switch and wire.
:agree:
Yup, I found those same instructions. Appears to be much easier that removing the fender, tensioning the belt, etc.
It really depends on who you ask. Everyone has an opinion. ;)
Most of the people my age (25 - 35) like the look and sound of the spyder (with TwoBros exhaust). A few have referred to it as "gay...
That's my current project - dampen the steering angle sensor signal.
Should improve turn-in feel and back-off the VSS aka "nanny" engagement during turns. :doorag:
I sent Clueless a PM around 5pm. Hasn't responded yet.
I had zero problems getting the DPS recall. I called the dealer in San Antonio on a Tuesday and they said bring it in on Saturday at 9am. Was out by 11am.
I did discover the shock tension adjuster...
Posted about it here. Search is a wonderful thing! :D
Well, at least they were smart enough to remove their license plates so they couldn't be easily identified in photos. :D
I certainly don't have "deep pockets" but I did purchase my spyder with cash. I guess you like paying banks interest? :dontknow:
Ha, I like 'em "squirrelly"! More entertaining. :2thumbs:
Ha, I recently purchased a 2009 RS with 150 miles on it from a private seller and rode it 150 miles home at freeway speeds (80+)....First ride on a Spyder, didn't scare me at all. I grew up riding...
I vote - save money and purchase the 2010.
BTW, it's nice to see someone else from Lumberton on this forum. I grew up there but left in 2002 after college. My parents still live in the...
BlackWidow, are you referring to the rubber air tubes on the stock airbox? The tubes are acoustically tuned to lower throttle body and air intake noise. They also benefit from drawing cooler air near...
What exactly does "hogged out" mean?
Sounds like the canister just needs to be repacked and riveted. Am I over simplifying this? :dontknow:
That's how all Spyders react. > 50% steering angle + throttle = engine sputter :sour:
I'd be much happier with > 80% steering angle + throttle = engine sputter
One could certainly reduce...
I'm still waiting for the addendum that explains how to disable traction control. :D
Just ran a quick test in a parking lot outside my neighborhood. Closing the brake circuit and/or parking brake circuit does not prevent VSS from cutting engine power.
The primary factor for VSS...
Agreed. I'm not questioning the intent of the stability control (braking individual wheels) to prevent rollovers. However, I am questioning the inability to turn off traction control.
For example,...
