I can't modify VSS but I would like to record telemetry and gps tag it. And be able to cal sensors bleed brakes etc
I used the data sheets from the racing version of the abs controller and the yaw rate sensor. Then I jacked up the Spyder and spun wheels individually turned steering etc
You can use a product based on this chip
http://www.elmelectronics.com/DSheets/ELM327QS.pdf
Something like this
http://www.obdtester.com/elm-usb
And it will decode the protocols and...
No worries I'll start another performance thread for you two to have at
Guys this thread on electrical protocols won't be that useful if it turns into another cat fight
Agreed the wash moved some conductive dirt around, it dryer, and now a cylinder isn't firing
You got it.
It adds about an average passenger's weight to the dynamics model it uses for braking and stability control. Most of that weight is pushing on the back wheel.
The module with four hydraulic connections with one plugged it the abs/VSS module. I would recommend taking it to the dealer as there is a buds initiated computer controlled flush for the abs/VSS...
Sometimes it's not just the gear it's the conop
He doesn't need to know. I'll run my parallel cable to the tank bag and put my handheld pc in there. Throw a permanent code and take it to the shop, tell him it's acting flaky and run through all the...
Dude we where chatting about wings and such you started in about crowds. I'd rather see the wing on a street legal F1 but I can't afford it. This little experiment of mine has nothing to do with...
Someone emailed and asked so I thought I'd post it here.
There are two busses on the Spyder
1 the can bus it's standard can bus and let's the VSS talk to the engine/ECM and yaw rate sensors
2...
With the old drivetrain you trade lower rpm to keep them moving slower for a larger displacement so you can move more air
The modern materials help a lot too
Doc,
That's miles not wide open throttle miles. The two aren't the same for everyone :)
Here is a pic of the latest wing and angle

And I'm not really interested in being labeled as part of a " crowd" I'm just fine standing here in the corner alone
Aesthetics aren't what it was about but I like the way it looks and I'm the only one that counts :)
I did it for handling and it helps there.
Yep it's all about mass air flow and getting the energy out of the fuel and there are many efficient ways to do it
I raced open class 4 cycles carts on clay blue grooved tracks for a few years and that was the fast way around
They are surprisingly good in the rain.
But they are slippy when they are cold
You can three wheel drift but you have do it with throttle and small steering angles
Can anybody recommend a campground near Lamonts area for Wed night
Yeah I'm going to drive up The day before
I like that color
Setup a 25-35 mph corner in a empty parking lot in the pouring rain it's a pretty safe way to play get used to the dynamics and the VSS.
Try to aim for a down shift that's puts you around 7000 when you straighten from the apex, full throttle up shift at redline and your at the mercy of your tiress :)
Now all he needs is a bootle of liquid nitrogen to blow on his intercooler on the flats
After nine months and 7000 miles the fronts look good the rear is another story but thats to blame on poor throttle discipline.

They are wearing...
It makes the dragon seem relaxing
You are going slow enough a major mistake doesn't require a dustpan and a broom to recover you
Ok so the wing is on,
I'm happy with the airfoil and the mount. It's not stiff enough but my son in law works at a high tech composite shop so soon it will be cast in carbon fiber.
From my...
