After three weeks of exclusively riding the Fury as I try to reach first service miles, I got back on the Spyder today. What a thrill. It's kind of like "Toy Story" where the old toy gets...
Current issue of Rider magazine (Sept 11) has positive review of Spyder and BRP. ;)
The Stryker has alot in common with the Honda Fury I bought last week, long and low. Didn't miss leaning until I leaned again. Remember to put your feet down.
It is a stark reminder of the too much information discussion with respect to the Spyder. Spyder tells you speed (analog and digtal), RPM, air temp, coolant temp, fuel level, time and gear. Fury...
Actually, it has as much plastic as the Spyder. Fenders and almost all the chrome you see are plastic. Engine, frame, pipes and tank are metal.
Like many Spyder owners, I have been exclusively a three wheeled addict for three years. That ended on Friday when I was drawn back into the two wheeled world. Not to worry, the Spyder is still...
Getting ready to leave for Gettysburg/Antietam and weather report is for mid 90s. Trying to prepare the Spyder as well as possible for the heat and since I have all the SpyderPops add-ons, I decided...
Exactly! I got frustrated trying to do the hot measure method and took a 12" plastic rod and push it to the bottom of the tank. I made a notch on it where the full and add marks are (about 8" from...
In spite of my efforts to reach 10,000 miles before Scotty reached 10,000 posts, he won. I tried hard this week, but could only get to 9,600 miles. Sorry to call you out on this, but facts are...
For what it's worth, it has been posted several times that the bars/temperature scale is as follows:
1 bar = 153 degrees
2 bars = 171 degrees
3 bars = 183 degrees
4 bars = 207 degrees
5 bars...
Amazing. One and done. I searched internet sites and this site did not come up. Other sites that did did not have L, just S, XL, etc. Thanks. SpyderLovers to the rescue.
Tried on a helmet at dealer and it fit better than almost any helmet I've ever had. It was a Can Am TS-1, large, full face, black from 2010. I asked if they could order silver (full moon fixation)...
I vowed not to make unnecessary posts, but when I saw that Scotty was at 8,995, all we need is a couple of good questions and we can get him to 9,000 before the day is done. :D
I have been away from the site for awhile. Seven months ago today, I lost my wife. Heart attack at 60 after 40 years together. I visited the site a few times, but did not feel compelled to jump in on...
Obviously patterned after the BRP product, but not licensed or marked in any way as a Spyder. A bigger version of the Hot Wheels design. Pretty neat and at this price, the Grandsons can play with...
Apparently Walmart still has RC Spyders in warehouse. Our Walmart got 8 more yesterday, 4 yellow and 4 red.
John,
I have a brand new yellow one still in the box, but I am in MI. I have the red one and was just keeping the yellow one as a spare. I am willing to sell since you used the magic words,...
Yes they are a product of China, and I hate to say it, but they are very well made. Nice embroidery on cap and embroidered "Y" on the bill with an embosed BRP logo snap on the back.
GOT MY HAT!!! After almost a three month wait, the free hat has arrived. Dealer had seven free hat certificates turned in and BRP finally sent them three. Talk about the slow boat from China. And...
While the vest did cover the white belly, you can look at Scotty's avatar to see what I saw. :yikes:
Scotty & Nancy rode over to Town & Country near Jackson today so we went to the lake for his first Sea Doo (or any PWC) ride. He was perfect for my 1988 Sea Doo. Two relics, still running. He...
Not bad for CA. I paid $200 for 600 mile oil change and inspection here in MI.
Have not heard of any slow clock Spyders. All seem to be fast. I reset when it gets more than 10 minutes fast. Must be the US/CAN time exchange rate.
While the bow and gun seasons are limited, Michigan is open season with cars and cycles all year. Hit three with my car in the last six years, but so far, no close encounters on bikes. See them...
Harvey has come up with some clever fixes for heat management, and best of all, they are affordable. MAD works great and I'm sure the MBG, MHS and AMS I ordered today will be equally effective. ...
I think most everyone agrees that this is an amazing design. They did miss a few details, however, and the very complexity that defines it is what drives dealers, mechanics and home wrenchers nuts....
Nice job. I see that you followed the idea that some of us did in removing the ugly orange trim strip and painting it to match your Spyder, Big improvement. Could you share the dimensions of your...
Here are some shots of the Sears trunk ($33 + shp also available at JC Whitney) that bolts easily to the sport rack plate. Made in China not Italy like Givi, but for the price, it works great. ...
When they come out, they are easy to pick up at Walmart, K-Mart, Target, Meijers, Toys R Us. Once they come out, they seem to go fast and are hard to find after a few weeks. I try to get a couple of...
Here's a shot of all three Hot Wheels Spyder like vehicles; the original orange/silver, the silver/gold and the new flame with red windshield. The new one has specs on the back that say 200 hp, 150...
