A lot of the mesh gear comes with a waterproof and some with a thermo liners. So mesh and and rainproof do go together. ;-)

I put 33k on my 13 before trading it in on a 15. It was a se5 and I had no problems other than the muffler pipe broke in 1st week I had it. Warranty fix and I was happy. Do recommend 13.
