Have there been alot of oil pump vane/internals replaced at 35kmiles? If the pump is worn maybe I could bind just enough to crack the gear? I'm going to measure those parts to see, just wondering if...

Hi all. Has anyone here had to deal with the broken high pressure pump gear? Does anyone know if a separate issue leads to this gear breaking or is it just a defect? At 35k miles mine failed.
