I haven't tried this, but I would think that those new fangled sockets that allow the bolt (or in this case - antenna) to pass through the socket would work very well for this.

Yes - I pushed and pulled at the connector, but it is down in a hole and I can't get at it other than to just touch it with only having opened the seat - I don't know...
