Thanks Deanna, I had 18,803 miles on mine when the DESS MODULE was replaced. I also hope you do not get another DESS issue as well.
Cheers
Well I picked up my Spyder this morning from the Dealer 2-13-18. Here is the Dealer comments as written on the work order. No codes stored in (BUDS). But we and BRP have seen this before, BRPS...
Well I have an appointment to take my Spyder into the Dealer 2-9-18. So will see how everything goes. I have to get it fixed because I don't want to get stranded out some where. Will let you know how...
Mike, thank you for the info my friend. Yes I read about half the DESS Thread and my eyes were starting to turn red and were burning. I just had to stop reading it. I'm still under warranty so the...
Well I got the DESS check engine on the speedo today 1-27-17. I turned the switch off and on 3 or 4 times and got it to start. I have 18,997 miles on my 2014 RTL-SE6 spyder and this is the first DESS...
My Spyder has pride of place always in the garage, if not riding. Good luck to all Irma watchers in the southeast.
I love my 2014 Can-Am Spyder RTL-SE6 but I also ride and love my 2015 Harley Dyna Switchback.
I use any of the Toptiergas.com fuels available.
"Wow" what a trip 19 stated in 28 days! Thank you for sharing the pic's my friend. Did you camp outside for any of those 28 days?
Its to bad they don't make a helmet for the humid hot southern, USA. Something on the order of those bicycle helmets with all the holes in it.
If you find one with good ventilation, be sure and post...
:congrats: on your new :spyder2: and excellent choice as well. Ride safe!
1330club :congrats: on your new :spyder2:, ride safe my friend.
It looks like you ride 2-up most of the time. In that case stick with the higher tire pressure my friend.
Cheers!
:congrats: on your :spyder2: purchase, ryde safe. Make sure there is a Tool Pouch under the seat.
It is my opinion that every motorcycle manufacture is going through this slump in sales. The real reason is the new kids (milennials) aren't interested in motorcycles like we were when we were young....
Thank you billybovine, I pulled up the Code P0340 - CamShaft Position Sensor Fault. So I guess its safe to ryde 10 miles in Limp Home Mode to the Dealer. I appreciate your response and the procedure...
Hi jtoro1,
Thank you for your response my friend. But I still haven't joined the 21st century, I don't own a cell or smartphone. Just to old and set in my ways I guess.
Cheers
Richard
Thanks Max, Yes I started the engine 3 or 4 different times. But the Check Engine - Limp Home Mode still comes up. That's when I thought it would be easier just to check for the engine fault code.

Left the house this morning real early. I was going for a ryde with the NE Florida Spyder Ryders and then have breakfast as a group. I got about 5 miles from the house. When the check engine light...
Hello from Florida and welcome to the site. If you like clutching to shift the gearbox get the manual SM6. If you don't like clutching to shift gears go with the semi-automatic SE6. Good luck to you...
:congrats: on your new Spyder and welcome from Florida. After two weeks of riding the :spyder2: everything will just come natural to ya!
Cheers!
Congrats on your new Spyder and welcome to the forum.
Yes I agree with you TRLBLZR1. You do not want the old contaminated oil sitting in the engine & transmission for 5 or 6 months.
Cheers!
Mike, running 18psi in the rear even while riding two up is okay?
Cheers!
Bob, I have no idea why or if they change the gasoline formula in North Florida. All I know is my gas mileage on both my Spyder & Harley drop about 2-4 mpg during winter months.
Cheers!
Is it just me who thinks this way? But I always get better MPG in the summer then I do in the winter. I'm thinking gas companies change the gas formulas for winter. Anyone else notice this too?
Also make sure the rear axle is in properly alignment.
I change oil & filter every 5,000 miles or 12 months which ever comes first. I always use BRP semi-synthetic oil & BRP filter.
Cheers!
Thanks for your response UtahPete,
I was originally thinking you had to remove the battery from the unit to access that Mini connector for map downloads.
Cheers!
