I have an 08 GS Manual that came with the TBR Carbon Fiber Single, and I needed the O2 modifier for it.
IMHO...I'm not too impressed with the quality of the exhaust...it started coming apart on me...

get a can of Molly-b (Molybdenum)... it works great for stainless on stainless galling.

I bought the bike with a TBR carbon fiber exhaust on it. I had to put on the O2 modifier to stop the surging, which isn't a big deal. The sound is loud but good.

It's all in personal preference.... I have been using the ECHO QR for years offroad with no issues with latching or any other kind.
I can suggest that for the few bucks that they do cost it might be...
