My F3S is in Tennessee and I'm in California. Today though, my Brother called, and invited me to his place for a motorcycle ride. We rode up CA Hwy 36 from Fortuna to the town of Bridgeville on the Mad River. I was riding the Honda 250, and my Bro was riding his 990 super Duke. We had a blast.
I like mine. They also extend your handlebar length to give you a little more room on the grips. Especially the left side where the shift paddle is.
Out and About again!
Reassembled and brought it out of maintenance/hibernation. The Spyder, not the wife.
Well it's going to be cold and windy after being warm the last several days, so I decided to take advantage of the time to do some maintenance on my wifes floorboards.
I bought the 3-6 inch risers for the OEM passenger floorboards a couple of years ago from Pierre and they were starting to rust and the paint was peeling off of them so I took them off today and ground off the rust and loose paint with a dremel.
I am taking the pieces tomorrow to Linex to see if I can get the risers coated with Linex so they don't rust or peel anymore.
First ride of the season yesterday.
Everything worked fine and the weather was sunny for once. I just took a short round to do some shopping and stop by a buddy to say hi.
Took the scenery route back home and it started to snow a little darn it, so was glad to be back in the garage and innside by the fireplace again. :coffee:
Anyways, the Spyder seems to be good and ready for a new and hopefully long season
I took the blanket off, unhooked the tender, got it fired up, did a loop around the town, got her all warmed up, and parked it in the garage bay; where I'll be undressing her and doing the spring service, plugs and wires, doing away with the clunky air box, and putting on a new breather housing from BajaRon's!! :2thumbs: If I can't use my snowmobiles, may as well get the RT ready!
I didn't do anything, It is still on the battery maintainer for a little while longer.
The :spyder2: is getting restless!
I'll wake up the :spyder2: next month.
Deanna
Replaced both seat and top case lift shocks. Also replace my lower nose light because it got damaged.
Extracted the RT from the corner of the garage and moved it into the primary position in the launch bay.
Hoping to go riding this weekend.
Was actually last Saturday, but I took the Spyder out for a test ride. Not to test the Spyder, but to test my shoulder, which was replaced in December. Only a short ride, but all went well. Now to wait for a nice day to take a little longer ride for a more thorough test.
Removed my Zumo XT GPS and Touratech mount. New Zumo XT2 and mount arrives today.
Went for a ride after 6 weeks of hibernation. Still as fun as ever.
Linex wanted too much to coat the Passenger floorboard risers so I just got some rustoleum truck bed liner spray and sprayed the pieces myself.
In between coats I was able to get my custom emblem installed.
Short ride (40 mi). This is Boone lake on our rd. Had to do a photo op on this beautiful day. Cheers!
We did an 80 mile loop today. Left for the ride under clear blue skies. During the ride we were watching the darkening sky and feeling the dropping temps. We decided to head home. We beat the rain by an hour or so.
And ordered a Show Chrome heavy duty strut for the rear, top case from Slingmods.
Finally put a Baja Ron Ultra Sway Bar on my 21' RTL. I've been wanting to do this for a while.
Just another ride in the country.
Put one on the F3 a couple of years ago; yesterday, I put one on the '012 RSS. I Hope it works as good.
We took a 3 hour mid day ride through Bucks County here in Pennsylvania. Lots of bikes out and about.
Got my Zumo XT2 all set up on the byke..
Added a driver backrest, LinQ rack, and passenger backrest to my base RT. Really like both the comfort and look of the adds!
