I have changed out the brake switch and spring and still have the failure message. Brake fluid topped off. What else is causing massage. Is there a reset sequence for the error code maybe?.

Does the brake failure message really specify the PARKING brake ?
Is your parking brake actually stuck ON or OFF ?
The most common parking brake failure is the parking brake motor/solenoid.
Knowing the model and year might help.

Parking brake works fine. Only electrical connection that would trigger a code for brakes is the parking brake switch. Dealer told me there are no sensors at the brakes themselves. So we both figured it was switch.

Stop guessing and get the active fault code. You posted in the GS/RS forum so I will guess that is what you have. You do not tell us the year and that could make a difference. So the most likely way to get the fault code would be. With the fault active on the screen.
With engine running. Press the mode button repeatedly until "engine hours" (total hours) shows on display. Make sure you do not release the mode button when you get to "engine hours"
While still holding the mode button. Flash high beams 5 times within 2 seconds.
If there are no active faults "No Active Fault Code" will be displayed.
If there is an active fault, an alphanumeric code will be displayed.
If there are more than one active code, you may press MODE to cycle through them.
By your description it sounds like a low pressure fault. Usual cause is old brake fluid. If it is there is a way to clear the fault.
Disconnecting the battery is a waste of time and effort.
This is my first time on the forums and have received good info. I will try the codes now. I have an 09gs.
C0049. Shows brake fluid level or sensors. Level is full. Dont know how to check resistance on the sensors to see if they work.
Not sure what else to look for here. The 2 plastic probe type sensors are in place under the reservoir but sit loose. May be normal. Dont see how those work.
Well now you know it is a brake fluid level sensor issue and you can concentrate on that. Make sure the magnet is still attached to the float. Make sure the sensor is fully seated on the back of the reservoir.
I think you guys nailed this mystery for me. The code is not showing now. I topped off the resevoir all the way up till it overflowed. code still showed. Back half of resevoir never moved in height. I topped it off as well. No code. Am i to assume the resevoir is a 2 compartments. ?
Done. Thanks for all the help. Really not sure why the dealer didnt even suggest this or k ow how to get the code to figure it out. Been dealing with this since october

Unless maybe you have the first Spyder ever built, I'm pretty sure that is absolutely, positively FALSE.
I think you need a different dealer.
For instance, I had a brake failure indicator come on because I was "riding the brake" a little.
