Does anyone know just how many of us bought those fantastic magnetic mirrors. The initial flurry kinda outstripped those available but I expect now it's better. Still would like to know how many. I really enjoy taking mine off just to show off.

Just ordered a set from Lamonster. It appears that many folks are not using any mirror safety catch teather should something happen. Any good reasons for not using them? Are they that sure the magnets will hold it?
I took a wire tie and ran it threw the wire connector so if it should flip off, the wire would be the safety wire. Seemed to be a good idea to me:yes: Good luck, and go get some Magic Mirrors you will not be sorry!
I designed a simple easy to use sheet metal tab that prevents the mirror from coming loose or if it did, a 300lb. test line that prevents the mirror from falling more than 3 inches...………. " Utah Pete " has some pics that He might send you …… Happy New Year …. Mike
Magic mirrors are GREAT. If you don't have a set and do your own work on your :spyder2:----- ya need this mod. Tether of some kind is a must ( IMHO ). How many of "us" have them? Contact the OEM.

Happy New year to you all:ohyea:
I Spyderman
Ok new, These are magnetic fasteners for the mirror, very good gajet

Lew, imho you need the magnets MORE if you don't work on your Spyder - WHY … because dealer Tech's are more likely to Damage the OEM system or not properly attaching the mirrors, which then allows them to FALL off..... BRP doesn't make any system for preventing the mirror from hitting the pavement. A friend of mine bought a New RT, and both mirrors were Not properly attached...… Mike
i dont use tethers ,have about 5000 miles on mine and on some extremely ruff roads dont move at all
Fishing line works well.
I used the ones by Tricled. I would say they hold the mirrors far better than the OEM clips and less frustrating to get on and off.
As stated above I use tethers …. they cost me a little time and about .10 to make ….. :agree: I don't think my mirrors can or will come off, and I only use Two magnets ….. But Paying approx. $250.00+/- ( for a new mirror assembly ) if one does come Off, well this is not a good option...……… Mike
Mine came with tethers, best add on I've installed. Used to be the worst part of maintenance.
The Magic Mirrors saved me a lot of aggravation. Was buying more mirror clips all the time and bending them to make the mirror hold on to the Spyder. Not anymore. One good tap and the mirror is off and goes back on just as fast.
But still use the tethers that came with mine at the time. They dont come with them anymore from what I hear.
BEST added addon that I have! I will never again ride my Spyder without them on the mirrors. When I trade my 2016 in for a new model, the magic mirrors will be the first addon I get.
It sounds like I better get a set too.
Absolutely up there with the best accessory [ maybe no.1 ] you can fit to a RT.
:coffee: A Big plus x 10 for magic mirrors.
As many have said, Absolutely one of the best accessory's you can add to a RT. I do most of my work on mine, and when I do take it in for dealer servicing, I demonstrate then to the tech and have a little tag that says magnetic mirror mounts that I slip in between the top magnets so it hangs back into the cockpit area.
And to those concerned about tethers, After mounting the magnetic mounts (the 6 pack so all points mounted magnetically) while on a strange road very late on a rainy night in NE Georgia I drove my '13 RT over a railroad track crossing that had a maybe one foot ramp up on the approach, but a good two foot drop on the far side, I was airborne. When I landed both my un-tethered mirrors popped off. But they stayed connected to the electrical connectors that power the turn signals and just hung there while I came to a stop. Snapped them back on and continued the ride. No Damage, no problem.
You could always try these :-
