Need to program keys to ecm. You probably didn't need the module

So if you're still going to be using the original DESS & Ignition Switch, any good locksmith should be able to cut a key to suit; but even in that case you'll need to get the key programmed, & probably only a KNOWLEDGEABLE BRP Dealer could do that!! :shocked:Quote:

The ignition barrel itself is just something that takes a key & any good locksmith who wants to bother should be able to sort out something - it's the DESS module that does the Security & Immobilising, and that can be a pain!! :rolleyes:

Another reason to have the DESS module deactivated.
I believe the Dess module decodes the key and send a signal to the ECU to start the Spyder.Quote:
