Wow - you got 7 years out of that OEM Yuasa - I'd probably go with one of the same and treat it just like your original.
The same one that is in there now! The YUASA is about the best overall value for the money there is. If you can't get a prefilled & precharged one go ahead and get the -BS (bottle supplied) version. Just be sure to follow the instructions and let the acid soak into the plates for a day or two and then put it on a low level charge of 2 amps or less until it is fully charged. Proper prep is of the utmost importance for a long life. 6 to 7 years on your original battery is superbly good! Many people say to stay away from the -BS version but if you're handy don't let them dissuade you.
I agree with the other comments. 7 years?? that;s great.
Hopefully you have a good shop and they properly condition new batteries like Idaho said. I think your battery on the 12 model is a little bit of a chore to get to...I trusted our shop to change it out. Either way, I would put the charger on a new battery for a 1-2 amp charge like Idaho said to bring it up to full charge.
Get the same battery, I am on my 5th year for my stock battery
What they said :joke:
:congrats: on getting it to last that long:thumbup: obviously you would like the same life out of next one so same name brand & all. Budget wise Batteries Plus has some good replacements & usually offer a sale if purchased online, will be charged & ready when you can pick it up:2thumbs: just make sure connections are clean & tight:lecturef_smilie:
