Ordered some farkles from Canamspyderaccessories yesterday. Be here soon so I can install them.
I did Lamont's wobbly mirror fix and it works great. They are now rock solid. The job would be a lot easier with the bike on a lift - the two screws on the bottom of the turn signal are very difficult to get to without standing on your head. I see why those two lower screws were missing on the one Lamont was demonstrating on for us. He was surprised - I'm not!
BE ADVISED......Although 1/4-20 X 1/2" screws were recommended by Lamont, one side was still not tight enough and I had to use a slightly longer one. Also, I did not run the tap all the up the shank. I stopped when a bit of the tapers tip appeared, making for a tighter fit for the screw...and I applied some blue Loctite to the threads, just for giggles.
Got my brake pads and bought the special grease to make sure they slide right and the quieting compound to keep them --- ah---- quiet.
My Ultimate saddle arrived! It dropped into place so easily, I didn't think it was secured. The original rider's seat was very difficult to attach - a real fight. Then you hope the bolts to secure it didn't disappear into oblivion. It's a Tall Boy and boy howdy, I needed that inch it moves me back. Thanks Timmb, you cared well for it and packed it so nicely that it made the trip across this continent unharmed.
Rode her to work.
Wow, those Baja Ron swaybars are wicked good !! No wonder so many people rave about them. I think with nicer front tires and a laser alignment, it’s going to be light years ahead of stock in terms of handling and performance.
Digging the Utopia back rest as well. WAY more comfy in the saddle !!
Might have to slow down on the farkling the next few months.
(With the emphasis on “might”, lol).
Here's what I did today:
I had a pretty bad mirror shake on the left (most important) mirror.'
I used Lamonster's fix. Great idea. The only difference, I had to buy a two piece drill and tap set to cut the thread, as opposed to the one piece that Lamont has.

Installed rear brake pads. Held the ( and pumped ) the brake pedal for 30 sec or so. Turned on the ignition key---- No brake lights:clap::2thumbs:
Yes Lou--- the upgraded anti-sway bar is GREAT.

Dropped it off at the dealership to get the oil changed, a handlebar riser installed and a headlight fixed.
That's what most of us have; a drill bit set and a set of taps and dies. Harbor Freight has a coupon for a big drill bit set for under $11. Their tap and die sets are reasonable too and good enough for the home DIYer. Get one with both SAE and metric size taps and dies.
Not quite today but two weeks ago, fitted two Baja Designs S2 Pro Mixed Lens driving lights. OMFG.
I had hooked them to a battery to test them once before and thought they seemed pretty good, but once I had them wired in by the dealership, and made the 200km ride home that night, they are amazing. They are light, have the option of Spots, Spreads or both and weigh very very little. They wired them to a separate switch so they have to be operated separately to the High beam, but that isn't an issue, when the S2's are on and you flick to High Beam it adds nothing to the amount of light out front.
I saw a guy buy a selection of LED bars and lights and do a comparison on youtube. These were almost as good as some of the much higher priced light bars.
The down side - when you hit oncoming traffic and have to drop to low beam you realize just how candle like the low beams on the Aussie models are.
Cleaned an waxed my spyder this morning. Got bugs all over the front. Them bugs are getting nasty out there now.
I rode it for about 650 miles in two days in 105 degree heat. I got toasted, and not in the good way.
Did the Lamount mirror fix on my new 2020 RTL.
Well we did what we’re supposed to do... took them out and RODE them! Not far, maybe 45 miles round trip but we did get to try out the new helmets and intercoms and had some fun before it was time to come home.
Oil change and put in led’s for the head lights.
Next up magic mirrors, and fender lights with blinkers
You will like the magic mirrors, and the fender lights.
I have the magic mirrors and the fender lights( Amber on the side, and red on the lower part near the Can -Am silver piece).
I have not had any trouble with magic mirrors. We have some very rough roads here in Vermont.

Rode about 75 miles. (It's too hot.) After I got home and cooled off a bit, I installed Lamonsters Longhorn LED mirror lights. I think I've taken the front tupperware off enough I can do it in my sleep.
Didn’t do much, too wet to go for a ride, but I was able to pair my TomTom 550 with my Cavalry helmet. I spent a lot of time conversing with Dave (MotorcycleDave) about the different Sena units, the Dongle (SM10) vs the Sena FreeWire used by the Goldwings and the HD’s. Thanks Dave, very helpful indeed.
