Does any know If I can put a ram mount ball on the existing tri axis bolt or will I need to get a longer one. If so, where??? I understand that it is a specialty bolt. I have seen some clam on ram mounts but they are between $100 and $150. Thanks for the information.
Under the upper rubber plug is a M6 threaded hole. RAM makes an M6 ball, but I think the thread is too short. I used their female M6 threaded ball and put a 2" M6 threaded stud in and it left about 1" exposed for use. Made a fine GPS mount, plenty of strength.

I did the same thing with an M6 stud through a RAM ball and it was $11 vs. the more expensive options. Been holding on for the last several thousand miles without coming loose.
I used a RAM angle ball and a M6 bolt with lock and rubber washer.
What are those bolt head covers you're using? I've been wanting to cover the bolt heads but haven't come up with anything.Quote:

This doesn't mount to the handlebars. It mounts to the top of the dash and makes using the added device unreachable. I have both and mount a CB in the center of the bars as it's a better place than on top of the dash.Quote:
