Bigger engine, another gear...I wonder how much weight has been added to the bike compared to the last model?
I wonder how the method of checking the oil compares with the old.
Didn't think anything they (BRP) could do to the '14 models would make me trade in my '12 RT Ltd. But...all I can say is WOW I really like what they did to the '14 RT. I'll probably wait until the '15s come out them may go for a new '14 or '15 RT Ltd. But then again, on the other hand, I'm not getting any younger and, as they say, you can't take it with you!
Thanks BRP, really like what you did to make the RT more of a real touring machine!
And that's what did it for me. Having traveled cross country many times on a Spyder I love having the extra range and a motor that's not working so hard to get the job done. My fuel stops are now cut in half just about and that's nice. It's more in line with my F6B now (R.I.P.) :sour:
Anyone know if the new seat will fit the older RT's and if you can buy as accessory? Back rest looks great!
As near as I can tell it will but your dealer can say for sure.

Having driven the new RT I would say that the extra weight is not an issue. One of the things I disliked about the RT is when you gas it at a light it would fall on it's face before taking off. Now when you hit it you go. Much better acceleration from a light. :doorag:
It's all of the extra torque down at the bottom of the rev range.
Lamont; where is the redline on "Big-T" now?
So my question to Lamont is are you switching back to a RT? Perhaps you already answered this.
At first glance I was a little upset with the new line up. Looking at them again today, the colors are actually growing on me. On the RS-S it looks like BRP took the lead from the way Lamont had his ST done up. Since I am planning on going from an RT to an RS-S I guess all I really have to do is decide what color I am going to jump on.
Yes, I'll be back on a Timeless Black RT-S :doorag:

Well I have to apologize for putting down those folks who posted about a sixth speed and bigger engine.
I WAS WRONG!
Sounds like many moves in the right direction for touring.
much on storage on the new RT Ltd. Is their more, less, or the same amount as on the 13'. What I have seen so far on the 14' looks like a measurable improvement!!
I understand where their market dominance is.... It's NOT with Sport Riders.
No wonder the Can-Am Spyder is so strongly associated with Over the Hill riders....
Was disappointed with last years cosmetic upgrades and just as disappointed with this years focus.
As much as I love my RSS, I WISH Kawi or Suzuki would come up with a Sport oriented Reverse trike as competition so us Sport riders could get our fix.
BTW: No, the ST nor RT provide the same performance as the RSS.
What next year? An on board Dialysis device for those 70+ ?
In my opinion, BRP has again neglected their younger demo. Perhaps the "Younger/RSS" ideology is in violation of the Quebec Charter of Values and BRP has sided with the PQ?
