My Phantom, well I call her "14". Not sure what my Wife has named the RS-S.
BTW, I have a 14 year old Dodge RAM truck that is called "Old Blue". So I'm kinda partial to that name! :D

I just call mine "Baby". As we all know, it's impossible to go anywhere without ooh's and aah's. i just say "ya cool, it's my baby".
Hope all us Silver ryders can get together in Cuba Mo next year.

I've named mine Floyd (as in Pink Floyd). It's currently red, but will eventually be painted an autumn orange. But, I think his name will still be Floyd!
I've only had mine a couple of days but so far I have been referring to it as 'the beast' but I will think long and hard as I rack up the miles for something more appropriate.... maybe 'Ralph'? Nah... :wrong:
I have not done a very good job of keeping up with happenings on Spyderlovers for about a week so I missed this post, Scotty. I sure hope that you have better luck with "Red Ryder" than you've had with the "Hippo".
On the other hand, a lot of us have been able to learn a lot about our rides from the efforts you've made to correct the problems on yours. So the "Hippo" hasn't been a total bust - it's been a good learning experience.
Congrats on the new ride and hope the dealer made you a super deal on it.

BARKING SPYDER... :D
"White Noise" It's getting air brushed on the bike one day soon as I slowly modify the machine.

My wife(now deceased) jokingly referred to all of my current and past motorcycles as "The Black Bitch", as in her view I was gone driving them too much. She couldn't ride do to spine/hip injuries.
As a fan for years of The Green Hornet, I'm partial to calling my beastie:
The Black Beauty
Danu is the Irish Godess
Mother of the Irish Gods. She's decorated with a Triangular Celtic knot (I thought the Trilogy and Three Wheels "tied" in nicely)
So Danu she is and She certainly has an Irish temper!
I had to grit my teeth today when a lady said "Is that your buggy" I said Yes but It's a Spyder.
"Buggy" is fairly mild...and probably a compliment in that person's mind. I have heard "thing", "contraption", "snowmobile", "Transformer", and "hotrod". I don't care what they call it, I just smile.
An older lady the other day said "I like you tricycle, it's neat". Due to my upbringing, I smiled and replied "thank you". Inside I was crying/mad/befuddled all at the same time.:(:sour::mad::banghead::trike:
Yeah, I have heard TriCycle too. That is the worst one to me. Buggy is mild compared to that!
I was at the post office yesterday. I was the only one in there, and the door opens.
In walks a frail little lady, I'd guess about 80-85. She looks around and makes eye contact with me.
She walks over and asks, "Is that your Motorcycle outside?"
I smile and say, "Yes Ma'am it is."
She smiles a really big toothy smile and pats me on the shoulder and says, "THAT is really cool." :doorag::clap::doorag:
Now, that lady made my day, and so a "trycycle, or buggy" now and then is just is simply "water off a ducks back" to me!
Ya'll got it nice-everybody at work calls it my "scooter". :yikes: :banghead: :barf: ....talk about holding your tongue :cus: .... truth be told......i usually don't......... nojoke
My least favorite to date was Snomobile. :roflblack:
In OZland they are registered as TRI-CAR
I prefer "mobility scooter"
Jos
l I have had several people call it a transformer, I just tell everyone it is my convertible. But no matter where I go someone always ask what it is and most of the time at stop lights. And i get a lot of thumbs up from all ages. LIFE IS GOOD.
"Batmans Bike". More than once.
