In 1968 I purchased a 1964 650cc Triumph TR1 Trophy Sport, the bike I learned to ride on. Anyway, it got away from me when learning to ride it. My hand slipped off the clutch and I unexpectedly wheelied. One of my riding buddies said, "Hey, he's a wheeler" and they nicknamed me Wheeler and the name caught on even with school mates.

Sekhet was my call sign in the Air Force.
While going through Air Combat training, one of our training officers (of Egyptian descent) was constantly saying that I attacked my targets and adversaries like the Egyptian Gods of war, Anubus & Sekhet. Another pilot had already been given the call sign Anubus so I was dubbed Sekhet and it stuck.

When my father joined the newly made Air Force the whole family was encouraged to learn to fly. He would take his family from military assignment to assignment by flying our small personal air force of Cessna Skyhawk’s, Helio Courier’s and Mooney Mustang’s all over the US. Florida to Alaska, Delaware to California. 8 bases in 20 years. Imagine 2 adults and 5 teens flying in formation to your local small town airport. We were often called the OMAC’s. (One Mans’Air Corp.) When he finely retired as a Major and my mother as a Lt. Colonel the whole family was called to the podium and told our flying days may well be over. Shortly after that I joined the Navy and began to fly to where ever my assignment was, from boot camp in the Great Lakes to my final assignment in Hawaii. My wife and 2 sons each have their own planes and we have resurrected the OMAC name. The 546 are the first few tail numbers, hence omac546.
