A Good thing these engines are 4 Stroke, Can you imagine if the Spyder was a 2 Stroke and they had ta mix the gas & oil. (pre oil injected) :banghead:

We also run the Lamonster Garage oil, have had no issues with it.

Motul 7100 5w40 run perfectly for me.(South europe clime)
I want to use Rotella T6 10/40, but that is getting really hard to find. I may have to use 15/40, or another brand of synthetic if I want to stay with 10/40.
I thought the T6 (full synthetic) only came in 5w40 and 15w40 weight ratings?
Whoops, my error. 5/40 T6 is what I'm searching for.
Cannot find T6 5/40 here in WI. Shortage of that product everywhere I guess. Good thing I stocked up last spring! :)
I use Pennzoil Platinum. I like that it is a full synthetic oil and that it has a high viscosity.
I recently purchased my first Spyder, a 2015 RT-S with a manual transmission (SM6). Being a big fan of full synthetic oil I'm wondering if there would be any problems with clutch slippage?
Will be changing soon with Mob1 4T for about $9 qt.

I use Valvoline Full Synthetic 4-T stroke for my 2014 -RTS-SE 6 spyder. I have had any problems with this oil.
This oil is formulated for specific needs of high performance motorcycles including high temps, High RMPS, and Wet Clutch Systems ( The spyders have a wet clutch systems).

Rather than start a new oil thread, I figured I'd just comment here. It's time for my annual oil change on my 2015 SE6 F3. I have been using Shell Rotella T6, 5W 40, but as you know, you can't find it anywhere now. It is not available in either of the 2 Wal Marts in Tallahassee, FL. But guess what?! You can order it for $79.00. No thanks. It cost me about $34 last year. Get an oil change kit at the dealer you say? Too expensive. $135 last I looked. Lamonster? Even more for the oil. So what did I do? Got the filter from Lamonster for $15.95. Got Castrol 5W40 4T (yep, meets JASO MA2 specs) from Amazon for $52.94 for 6 qts.
BajaRon also sells the oil change kit at a reasonable price. My last change I got his change kit, not including oil. He also sells on Amazon, but deal with him direct and save tax and the Amazon up charge for the third party handling.
I wanted to go Rotella (if I can find it) on my new to me 2020 RTL, BUT from what I read, Rotella T6 xxW40 weight oils don't carry the API SJ SL SM or SN rated as shown in the Owner's Manual. I know it's JASO MA2 rated so OK for , wet clutch, but I understand the "S" (for spark ignition) API ratings confirm suitability for gas engines and address certain additives which damage the catalytic converter (we have one, right?). As for the BRP oil, not only is it expensive, but it also breaks down well before 9,300 miles (more like 3,000-4,000) and it's a semi synthetic. Would appreciate feedback on this from more experienced owners. Thanks.
