The 1330 engine is a variation of the motor that came out of a sea doo. Its been around for years and is very reliable. It will run for hundreds of thousands of miles! Just maintain it as required.

I see that this older thread (from 10/2013) has been resurrected. Interesting to see the comments.
I bought mine in April 2014. That's when we get the "new" ones here.
Turns out the 1330 was as advertised. I have 28,000 miles on mine now and other than headlight burnouts, there have been no mechanical issues.
The 1330 is now the "fleet" engine of choice for BRP.
still wondering which Seadoo has the 1330 engine
I don't know about Seadoo, but IIRC at the time it was acknowledged the ACE family of motors was from their quad division. :dontknow:

Here is a link to all of the Rotax engines and what their application is.
The only application for the 1330 listed is the Spyder.
I may be overly protective, but after break-in I do 5K oil and filter changes, and I do them myself. Doing an oil/filter change is an easy job, just take your time, follow the steps, and have a low profile oil pan to catch the oil. If you have a low profile pan you don't have to jack up the bike. Living in AZ I'm concerned about the heat and potential impact.
