It seems to me, this is like wishing a bow-and-arrow shot bullets...

Amazing how many folks need to look down on others . . . folks without comm systems, looking down of folks who have them, two wheelers looking down on trikes, SM riders looking down on SE . . . I wonder why there seem to be so many insecure people in the world who feel they have the right to put down others in order to feel superior? :dontknow:
I ride what I ride, and it isn't anyone else's concern . . . just as what they ride isn't mine . . . :lecturef_smilie:
Yeah eh? Hahaha, why who would think of such stuff...

Way back in the dark ages honda figured they would create and capture the
women riders by coming out with an auto bike, WRONG.
HD created and captured the market with the 883 hugger.
the se5 is terrific, I think it's like the sm5, you must up shift and you can down shift
Both of our Spyders are manual shift. We test drove the 2014 RT back in March, they were SE. We both liked the way it shifted. If we get new Spyders they may be the SE.
I rode a DCT (fully automatic) Gold Wing that I traded in for my Canam. It was super fun to ride. I hardly used the brakes until the last few feet because of down shifting. Canam could go to a DCT bike but they would have to pay Honda a royalty. DCT is a dual clutch transmission.
I think the Honda DCT can either be paddle shifted or be full auto…….
Scamp333, you do realize that this is a 7 year old thread I hope.
Yes, very old thread. Canam now has the Ryker with a fully automatic transmission and it works like a charm.Always in it's power band.Twist the bitch at any speed and it just goes!
I don't love the SE, wish I'd gone with a SM. The DCT seems to be a better alternative to a CVT. I'm wondering about BRP's - "Well, it'll downshift for you, but not upshift". What?
Well I guess BRP changed their mind on full auto. The Ryker has auto and it works great.
They already make one ....................... it is called a Ryker

I'm a new RT owner and at first was leery about the seemingly odd transmission. Personally I think I would have preferred a traditional manual transmission, but I am getting used to this one. While the Spyder will downshift by itself while slowing to a stop, I don't really care for the fact that I have to brake quite a bit harder to overcome the late to downshift transmission. I find that I manually downshift fairly often when slowing to a stop, but the button for upshifting does not seem well designed for use as a downshift button. I do like the fact that I can come to a stop and not have to hold a clutch lever in while waiting, nor do I have to shift into first gear manually. FWIW, I have a CVT transmission on my Honda PCX150 and it works flawlessly for the scooter. Whether or not it would work as well with 1330 cc is another question.
