Hi gang. Any updates on Nathan's condition, i.e., was the surgery a success or anything along those lines?
Chris
Our prayers are with you and your family. I went through a similar trial with my oldest son many years ago, fortunately he pulled through completely.
Nathan has the best thoughts and prayers that I can muster up bro ! I hope all goes well Lamont!

all our prayers are with you
I can't tell you how moved I am by the response of you all, you guys are great. Thanks again for your support.
We're heading back to the hospital now and hoping they will release him to us today. He had blood in his lung that we were concerned about but it looks like that's healing and we'll know for sure soon. His arm is giving him a lot of pain and after seeing the x-rays you would know why. It was a very ugly break and he now has a good size plate and 7 pins holding the bone together. It looks like the nerves in his arm were not damaged and that's a miracle in itself. His bone was as far as it could go without poking through. His hand was broke pretty bad too and they had to pin it. He has roadrash everywhere and that's causing a lot of pain too.
Right now we're still waiting for the police report and to find out if this guy had insurance. I know it's going to all work out but that's the one unknown right now.
I posted this on Facebook but I thought I would share this here too. I'm sure you guys heard about the 5 Marines killed in Afghanistan at Camp Leatherneck. That was the hanger next to Nathans where he was the last 8 months. I can only imagine what it would have been like if he was still there and we didn't know what was going on. So as bad as this is I'm glad it happen somewhere close to home so we could be with him.
Looking at this picture you can see how lucky/blessed he was.

Just looking at the road rash on his back makes me cringe. And the condition of the bike, surely the hand of God was on him. We're still praying for all of you. No doubt recovery will be long and painfull but with the loving family he has he will pull through. Speaking from experience, I can say the pain from the broken bones won't go away completely, but it will become tolerable. I have steel and screws in my leg and 13 years later it still aches, sometimes worse than others. By the way, is he still on active duty?
Wow, after looking at those photos he was indeed lucky and blessed, but he also comes from some incredibly tough stock so I'm sure that helped too. It's so great to hear he's on the mend. He's young and strong and hopefully should heal fast. I hope he goes home with you today. Best wishes!
Lamont words can not even describe what you and your family are going thru. After seeing the pictures you know that Jesus was beside him protecting him as only he can.
Yes it is great that he was home during this terrible accident just shows that God has a plan for all of us even though we have no idea what that might be.
Please know your family is in our prayers.
:pray:Those pictures reafirm that there's definately a Higher Power:bowdown:
Sending out prayers for continued healing.
:pray: of thanks for helping him through this.
:pray::pray: of a complete recovery.
Thanks for the update Lamont. Now the real fun begins for him. (nuff said).
I'd also inquire whether the "other person" was faulted/ticketed by law enforcement. Might want to get a citation number, etc., for future reference.
Chris
Gracias a Dios!! He is going to recover soon.
Lamont,
Glad your son is doing better, hope he is released to you and your wife's care today. Looking at the pictures I'm glad for all of you he had protective gear on. That bike is really trashed. Looking at the road rash just makes ya cringe, no position of comfort for that!! Here's to a rapid and uneventful recovery.
Sorta drives home the point of ATGATT.
Glad to hear the coughing up blood didn't indicate anything more serious. It's truly providential that he's in as good a shape as he is. nojokeThanking God for that and continuing to pray for complete healing.
Thankful that God's grace protected your son in this horrible accident. My prayers will continue for his recovery and that mom and dad can finally take a breath!
The look of that helmet says a lot about the value of a full face. It was worth every penny!
Glad to hear he made it through his surgery OK. Healing begins now... it's the old one day, one week, one month at a time grind. Hang tuff Jonathan
My thoughts and prayers go to you and your family. Sarah
