Any preference as to which side of vehicle/handlebar to install "helmet lock" ? I have one on order (do not need two) and expect I am not considering something about placement you guys may have discovered: convenience, obstructions, etc.? 2020 F3-T

The side you get on and off would work for me,
I don't use a helmet lock, but my thought would be to put it where it won't be in the way when mounting or dismounting. To me that would
be on the right hand since I always climb on from the left. But JMO.
On Edit, I just assumed you were referring to locks on the handlebars, but you may be referring to having locks elsewhere. If elsewhere I
would think they would be better on the left side since I mount from the left.
Seem to use one on the Rh side more often. Maybe just because turn & lock bars to left like my two wheeler:dontknow: *note: have LidLox turned so helmet can sit on grip & not hang from straps.
On my RT I had the helmet locks on both sides, just incase needed to lock up passengers as well. As far as what side made no difference, your not riding when it's locked up.
I use a Helmet Hook on the left side handlebar with the open locking tab cut back to about 1/2 inch. I only use the HH for gear-on/gear-off purposes. I keep my helmet in the frunk because the face shield is photochromic (Bell ProTint $149) and leaving it in the sun shortens its life. Same with the helmet liner.
An alternate idea is to get a pistol lock (used to be free at police departments). I covered the braided wire with plastic tubing just to protect everything and you can then lock the helmet (by the "D" rings) to the passenger handgrips and place the helmet on the passenger seat.
