My suggestion is try to figure out the general area where it's coming from then we can maybe have an idea. Kinda tough to diagnose from here without any other info.
Did you install anything new, or adjust the position of something that was already there?
Are you also certain it's not helmet noise?
That just the turbo charger!:roflblack:
... do you recognize the tune? :roflblack: May be a clue...
Whistling like wind or like metalic or rubbing ..? If it is a helmet sound you can clear it up with a simple head movement. Most wind noise you can find by taping up sections suspected if not a wind sound little tougher...
What year is your Spyder? Do you have a SmoothSpyder riding on the outside of a ribbed belt? If so, that is most likely what you hear.
If you hum a few bars, maybe we can figure it out! :roflblack::roflblack:
mine is coming from the abs on the front wheels.
My RT !imited has always whistled. If you look at the front Sprocket, there are round holes all around it. As it turns, the holes might cut the wind sounding like a Wind Instrument. The faster you go, the higher RPMs the Sprocket turns, with a louder whistle. That’s my guess. I installed the Belt Dampener as soon as I bought my Spyder, and at first, I thought it was the roller bearings on the Dampener whistling. So I wired it off the belt, but it still whistled, so it wasn’t the Roller.
:agree: A good quadrant to start with & inspect all the Tupperware there. Easier if you did add any Farkel in same area. Looks like you have a wrap:congrats: it very well should not have an effect on airflow but:dontknow: . Also just around 50 mph anywhere or just same road? I've visited FT Worth , don't remember many 50mph zones.:firstplace:
if you can and with some sort of cell phone attachment, so you do not drop it { if your cell has this option } turn the video on , and carry a rider ! have the rider move the phone around the lower section of the rear , near the left and right of the tire, and if safely for you to do it , move it around your seating position { ONLY IF YOU CAN DO IT SAFELY } no need to hurt your self just over something "whistling Dixie " ( sorry those other folks made me do it :roflblack: ) ... but you might be able to pin point the noise this way ... ( might be exhaust leak also , header gasket ) good luck on the search ...
I have a 17 RT that as I go up the gears I hear a whistling that is speed dependant, it does sound like a turbo spooling up. Have there been any known issues with bad gaskets or hoses?
