Use a polishing compound at first. Turtle wax polishing compound works well.
Use a rubbing compound if it's really bad - but by hand. A rubbing compound is more abrasive.
Be sure to put on some fresh wax when done.

Thank you folks! The scuffing was caused by trying to use my 2014 RTS cover on my 2020 RTL during a storm with 60-75 mph winds.
You might have good luck with Maguiar's Smooth Surface Clay. Whatever brand you select begin with the least abrasive product first. I've had good luck using plain old Maguiar's liquid wax to remove boot scuffs.
I've had some good results getting a finish decontaminated with a clay bar. Certainly, the whole process goes faster than polishing compound. I'm still leaning toward the polishing compound being more thorough though.Quote:

Yeah, the clay isn't inexpensive.
This is why smart folks don't use a Cover while trailering .... if the cover moves even slightly it can / will cause a paint scuff ..... and :agree: about trying a polishing compound .... star with the least abrasive, using only a little pressure, increase pressure if needed, if that doesn't do it, go up one in abrasiveness .....
