Kind of miss all the posting. Numbers have dropped off dramatically. I would assume all the Spyders

except for the Lower Lower 48 are "snug as a bug in a rug". How many are fortunate enough to be able to

ride year around? How many trailer there Spyders to the Lower Lower 48 to ride?

I guess the others will just have to settle for Ice Fishing and Snowmobiling.

Not much to read here at six o'clock in the morning with my first cup of coffee. Just can't depend on those

disputes and overly strong opinions anymore to :yikes::yikes: wake me up.

Keep posting and stay in touch with your Arachnid Buddies!

I can ride all year, but typically choose not to when temps are over 105. Additionally, my current job often prevents riding as much as I would like due to the unpredictable schedule and frequent requirements to work through weekends.

Still riding , we can ride most of the winter providing we keep our rain gear handy. Had a great ride this weekend to the Coast and had my chowder and clam strip fix.
We have made the Polar Bear Run, New Years Day the last two years, started out in the 30's but it was dry.

Well I keep mine licensed and insured all year, however I do not like to ride in the rain, so October and November have been very wet, so only out on my Spyder 2 or 3 times. Hopefully December will dry up a bit so I can get back out for a few local rides at least.:bowdown::bowdown:
And in case you're wondering......yes, I will disolve/melt in the rain.:roflblack:

Funny, I was thinking about exactly this earlier this morning. I seems to me as well that there has been a big decline in postings recently. Maybe folks just don't have much to say these days, or have run out of things to bitch about. But cheer up!! Very soon the dreaded "white snot" will arrive here in the Northeast and me can bemoan how long it will be before our Spyders come out of hibernation.

Ron is a site sponsor. I bought my Gerbings back in 2010 when they used to have a 2d's store....but many have raved about the ones that Ron sells, plus he is one of Spyderlover sponsors and gives great service and deals on most things for our Spyders...:firstplace:

It would be nice to have a more even climate up here. Too hot in the summer & far too cold in the winter.

Winter riding is a mute point as, by law in Quebec, we have to have snow tires on our 2 & 3 wheeled motorcycles from Dec 15 through to March 15 if we want to use them on public roads.

I would guess that many have a bunch of other hobbies that get in the way of fun! Here on the NW Coast I ride all year long except when it's pouring cats & dogs. Then add in ATVing on the dunes, Fishing, hunting (got a nice bull elk), Ham Radio, making a cider press, painting window trim when it's dry, and most of all so far I haven't had one problem with my 2015 ST in 4000 miles since August. The forum is a great resource and even with the occasional "ranter" it is all good sources of information for me. I thank you all!!! And wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving !!:yes::yes:

I just returned from Death Valley . perfect weather! Two spyders. My 2015 RTS has 22000 miles . zero problems. Komho fronts. Vee rubber on rear will not last as long, half worn out at 10,000 miles. New brake pads at 19,000. F4 tall wide windshield,. Replaced my last gold wing at 256,000 mi. I am only 89. Just ordered a f3 ldler pulley to put on with Joe s bracket. I do my own maintenance. I read spyder lovers every day. My wife rides with me a lot.she,s only 85. Went to the Long Beach motorcycle show yesterday. I love the new f3 limited.

If you have ever seen squirrels gathering nuts, you can imagine what it is like for a Minnesotan getting all of the outside chores done and equipment properly serviced and stored! Glad we had a bit of an extended fall, so we did get a couple of freebie rides in. For now, the bike is stored and I am becoming more like a hibernating bear.

Time for a bit of interior cleaning and painting.

Have also noticed a decrease in posting by some. I check a couple times daily and find myself mostly reading these days.

Im busy prepping my Spyder for next season. She's naked as a jaybird right now. All Tupperware is off and in pieces. My wife told me yesterday I better know how to put it all back together (me too:yikes:). Installing some lights, USB ports, F4 windshield, GPS mount and wiring, painting a few things I don't want silver (anyone who knows me, I hate chrome and silver). But I'm looking forward to homecoming and spyderquest. Might even give Maggie Valley a go if I can get off work. No spyderfest though. I may make that an every 3-4 year event.

That's preposterous! Snow Tires on Motorcycles and Spyders. I am sitting here trying to get a visual on that. Snow tires without studs are pretty useless. At least if you get snow you could Snowmobile. I always enjoyed that the two times I lived in Edina and Prior Lake MN. I probably enjoyed the Snowshoe we drank at every pitstop we made more. (Snowshoe is half peppermint Schnapps and half Christian Brothers Brandy) We used it for self preservation to keep from freezing to death. Most of our Snowmobiling was done at night. Nothing like a cool crisp night with a full moon.

Rode to the IMS on Sunday and put my overnight cover on my ST. Wasn't raining when I got there, however when I left about 12:30 it was sprinkling pretty good. The 710 out of Long Beach was gridlocked. I got off on PCH and connected to 405 south via Long Beach Blvd. And I when I got into Orange County it was dry, no rain. I saw on FB some pictures a few hours later where I picked up PCH on the 710 at that point was flooded.

Near 70 on Saturday and was able to get in a ride. About a foot of snow and 28 on Monday. Guess I have to plug in the battery tender and cover her up till about April...damn! Just bought a red/black RT-S with about 5800 miles on it. Unfortunately was only able to get about 600 miles before the snow hit. Love it so far. Thanks to all of you folks on this forum I have learned a lot and have quite a list of farkles (laser alignment, sway bar, tires, seat, windshield) to name a few.

The only problem I have with the RT (due to some diabetic nerve issues) is the brake pedal. I did put on the larger pad which helps but seems to get in my way. I am going to try the extension sold by Refined Cycle. Has anyone used this extension along with the larger pad? I'm thinking this will move the pedal far enough forward and in a better position for me.

Before I do any farkles I want to see and demo the new F3 limited. It's going to be a long winter.

It was 84 here today. Had to take advantage of it. Nice ride to Panama City Beach. Red flags out which means no swimming. The Spyder is like a magnet. People come around asking questions about it. Most people tell me they love it. I didn't see any other Spyders, about 8 HD's. Anybody out there that can tell me how to download a picture?

...but My Spyder wouldn't start at the gym the other night. Called Roadside assistance no help there. Probably the ground wire or maybe the battery... It's still under warranty, so we put it on the trailer and towed it to the dealer just in case. They said 2 weeks before they can even look at it. Feels kind of ridiculous to me, but I guess that's what I get for taking it to the dealership.

Winter has arrived here in NW Iowa, so the Spyder is tucked away until spring. It is keeping the boat and the Kawasaki Nomad company. Roads around here get slick, so I stay off them on the bikes. Two cars were in the ditch this morning, on my way to work.

Just to clarify the law is that all motor vehicles must have snow tires on by December 15 in Quebec. People who have bikes usually use this as a gauge that it is the time To put the bike away for the winter, as will a lot of people are not covered by insurance during the winter months. So I do not believe the law is specific to bikes.
