View Full Version : Anyone get a "what's it worth" e-mail from BRP?

I received a let's trade it now e-mail from BRP. In the e-mail was a handy dandy "what's it worth" calculator from NADA.

I ran both mine--just out of curiosity. Sad to say, one was about a thousand off my calculations and the other was a couple thousand off.

Needless to say--I am probably going to hang on to both. Each has 23K miles, no mechanical issues and they work for me. If I get the promised call from my dealer, I will be saying Good morning Hal, just looking.:yes:

So, what are you folks going to do? :bbq::bbq::bbq:

I got the email, too. I didn't even consider it because I have a '16 F3 Limited.

Yes, I got the email today. I am keeping mine.

Also if I get a call from my can-am dealership, I'll tell them " I am not trading". Deanna

I didn't read it and hit delete. Love both of my Spyders and not trading either one.

Got Mine Too- Talked to dealer when picking up oil filter and He says Sales for Spyders are Terrible compared to Jet Skies and Snow Machines??? No wonder they limited it to TWO models to cut their losses on production of the others?

I received the mail too. BRP doesn't sell a Spyder I'm interested in buying. When they have a model that isn't the "cruiser" riding position and isn't an RT I'll be interested. Until then I'll spend my money elsewhere.

Was kind of interested right up to where they wanted all my info, I can go to KBB and find out without all that.

I received it also, but I am not interested in what they think it's worth. I know what it's worth to me and that's all that matters to me.

I received the same email. I started to see what it is worth and when they asked for my address and name quit ... :banghead:. Went to NADA web site and what do you know...voila:bowdown: I saw 'what it's worth' and won't get that local dealers calls...just sayin';)

....With so many F3 versions now available, and if true the RT still outsells the other models, I often wonder what Can Ams next model line upgrade will be, other than BNG or minor electronics upgrades.
2018 may just tell the rest of the story... :dontknow:
BRP has reached the crossroads: what happens next will either kill the Spyder line-up; or re-define it for the next Chapter... nojoke

Like many of you I also stopped at the point where they requested personal information. This morning I went to the NADA site and found a few interesting things. First, when you go to the motorcycle page they have different styles to choose from including trailers where the picture you click to enter the site is of the RT-622 trailer. Two, this site didn't ask for mileage where the email site did. I was really curious about what kind of hit they made for mileage. Third, on the NADA site when you get to the page where they show the values for a specific model they have a tab for "specifications" and for a 2014 RTS they show it has a 998 motor. So I wouldn't give much value to the value they give.

I found it odd that they picture the RT-622 trailer but don't have Can-Am available as one of the manufacturers to choose from. Also, they only have trailer prices up to 2009.

Well...I ran the reply and got what would make me happy.

HOWEVER, I know they have my phone and address SO...if it ain't Pit Bull Can Am in Springfield, they can forget about making me a deal. I am prepared to drive to Springfield and trade.

I have a great dealer. I do not need BRP attempting to gain my information!

I got the email, and Bit. I knew the Trade in Value VS Retail Value on my Spyder, so was not surprised when it came in with a $2000.00 spread between Low and high trade in Value against a new 2017 Rt Limited. Only problem is, their High Value Trade in was $4000 less than KBB Retail Value.

I have a great dealer. I do not need BRP attempting to gain my information!

If they ever make it.

If they ever make it. Then if and when they make it and it has the real world test of all styles and types of riders and rides, with all of the after market modifications that people make to it, how many years will it it take for them to correct it all?

Why is it that past motorcycles and girlfriends are always remembered as the best or perfect, and the current ones we have we complain about?

Sorry but after 1.5 riding seasons and 18,000 miles my Spyder is trouble free and still a ton of fun, it not like my motorcycle, it's not better, its different. I embrace those differences and love it for what it is.

I got an e-mail from a salesperson that did not even know me. I have purchased six from the dealer since 2008 and over 130,000 miles on the brand. I am probably one of their best customers if I were also to add in the four Kawasaki's I also bought from them??? I put down undecided on the form so it was assumed that I did not know much about spyders or models. He suggested I go with RT if I ride two up or a lot. He said he had deals on 2016's and that 2017's were on order. In AK, that means the 17's will be here in April or May of 2017. Sometimes, I just have to sit back and wonder.:thumbup:

yeah, I got it. I filled it out. Then I laughed at the trade in and retail value. No, I'm not looking. I still owe way too much on mine. As far as the personal info- all zeros on the phone number. BRP already has my address.

Just for giggles, I did fill mine out. As some may recall, a couple of weeks ago I started a thread about my delaer loaning me his Demo, a 2016 RTS with the 1330 engine while my Spyder was in his shop. Both the wife & I really like the engine & tranny, and as my dealer pointed out, "once you ride it you'll be spoiled and want to trade". He was right, but too big a price difference. His distributor offered $12,500.00 for our RTL, as figured he would have to "sit on it until the spring". (My dealer did tell me that the distributor has been lowballing trade-in prices for just that reason). The BRP trade in estimate was $14,260.00, pretty much the same as KBB. Still not gonna make the trade, as BRP said I would be contacted by a dealer who-shall-not-be-named that I no longer use.

So far... It is looking like the "What's it worth" e-mail has not stirred the owners to run to their nearest dealer and get the trade in/purchase juices flowing. It's the end of the season for most of us and 2017 is another year.

I was wait and see, but based on what I found out, I think #5 is my last.:thumbup:
