From some reading it seems the Corbin does not have a provision for this. How are the other seat makers taking this into account?

If your refering to the sensor to determine if there is a passenger or not the corbin does use this sensor.

Your info is incorrect. Corbin DOES incorporate the stock passenger seat sensor in the rear seat.
.
The others, like Rick Mayer and Russell, use the stock seatpan and rebuild the foam, suspension and cover so the same bracket for holding the pillion sensor is still used on those saddles.

Everything I do is above the seat pan. The sensor is on the bottom. We modify the stock seat so it isnt a problem.

My bad, I misread a post about the Corbin and the Givi bags.
Sorry and good to know it's taken into account.
