this is THE long route to go 10 miles:D
ryde will be on spyderryder.com's map on event section so please please register along with posting here if you can make it.
weather can get tricky when we get up on the mountain so please bring warm clothes.

I am still working on discount from can am dealer in redondo beach for purchases made on that day but the marketing rep. has been out of office all week. I will contact him next week.

also if enough people are interested with evoluzione's stuff, i can ask ken for possible discount on that day since we are basically ryding by his house in murrieta.

could not get a hold of marketing rep. del amo motorsports so i contacted honda of hollywood and they want to host the ryde with 15% discount on the purchases made on that day. they will cone-off an area of their parking lot for us. i do apologize for change of plan but time was against me and had to post quick so people can at least have the 18th marked for ryde.

this is the final route and starting point
april 18th 10 am honda of hollywood 6511 santa monica bl. los angeles http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=6511+santa+monica+bl+los+angeles&daddr=S+Western+Ave+to:W+Ocean+Blvd+to:17th+St+to: CA-1+to:33.732335,-117.421875+to:norwalk+ca&hl=en&geocode=%3BFZZvBwIdeL_y-A%3BFVwcAwIdsNHz-A%3BFZy1AQIdoEz3-A%3BFTik_gEdYOz7-A%3B%3B&mra=dpe&mrcr=0&mrsp=5&sz=10&via=1,2,3,4,5&sll=33.568861,-117.835236&sspn=0.546953,1.235962&ie=UTF8&ll=33.931966,-117.976685&spn=1.089277,2.471924&z=9

magnum and me from here 1 from people i emailed last week and a ryder i met at the dealership other day.
let me know please:2thumbs:

i've done a "dry" run of the route and it is looking good.
ryding over the vincent thomas bridge in san pedro was awesome and rest of the pch south was very nice with combination of beaches and small town shops and pubs. Lunch will be by the dock with ocean view at dana point harbor.
hwy. 74 was not too tight and with bit of traffic it was just a easy ryde.
2nd pic is from a view point on hwy. 74 looking over lake elsinore.

this ryde will be better than the santa barbara run.

I am sorry to announce that the ryde will be canceled due to lack of interest.
2 ryders I had outside of spyderlovers.com have canceled due to spyder being down and unexpected business trip.
Only magnum have shown interest here so we will try again next month

If any ryders are interest in doing any rydes outside of scheduled rydes, just send me a pm:D

Keep plugging away at it. I think once you found a core group that you can count on "no matter what" then two or three unexpected cancellations won't spoil your ride. It was that way for me with a group of guys that met to play basketball 3 days a week ( back when I was young enough to do all that running). We had about 12 - 15 guys that were definites and up to 15 others who were a little more hit or miss. With the core group, we always got to play.

Another option would be to resolve to ride no matter how few can show up. Once people see that you are steady, they may be able to make it more of a priority. Those that are anxious to ride and have a good time on your rides will quickly become your core group.

i will:thumbup: when i first had the idea to get ryders together my thought was get a whole lot spyders together but after couple of rydes, i am leaning toward smaller group may be more fun.(easy to stay together, etc)

couple of people sent me a pm after i posted cancelation
that they just could not commit but were planing to attend
we may be having lunch/ryde with one member and his wife next weekend so if anyone is interest please post a reply.

and please please for future rydes, if you are interested in any rydes please post a reply even if you are not 100% sure.
ryder's interest on a ryde brings in other ryders in.

i will be going to palm springs this weekend for some golf.
well more like a bootcamp for myself. i will be practicing all weekend, working on my swing and chipping. fantasy springs casino have real good practice facility and i don't have to pay to use it.

since i bought spyder golf has been neglected (i had a oil change done on spyder every month) and this weekend i am going to practice practice.

if anybody just happens to be in palm springs also may be we can ryde up the mountain there.
