Whether you spoke to him over the phone to inquire
about a great price on the Best Warranty or you were
lucky enough to meet him at the Annual Bert's Mega
Mall Canyon Cruise. You knew you would be well taken
care of by an energetic, sincere, and easy going as it
gets human being.

24 Spyder riders from West Coast Spyders, SpyderLovers, and Sandiego, LA and Inland Empire SRA Chapters honored Art Wood.

This past Saturday we gathered at Berts Mega Mall in Covina California.

And just like many of the past 6 years before

we rode up this time to Crystal Lake.

Having gone on my first Canyon Cruise back in

2010, and receiving a shirt, lunch and discount

on merchandise or repair service from this

SpyderLovers Sponsor, I was hooked. We met so

many new riders, that I wanted to film and promote

the camaraderie. Put together a short iMovie trailer

that Art Wood liked so much. Here is that 44 second trailer.

https://youtu.be/EuaRuYBPzhU

From that short trailer, I had quite a bit of footage that has

never been shown, which really captured so much of what

Art put into the event, so that us participants would have a safe

great time. Here is a glimpse of the 2012 Canyon Cruise.

We were able to use 2 cameras to shoot much of the event.

This was shot with SpyderLover Scottyb former SRA LA president.

We don't know how long we are gonna be on this earth, at the young

age of 39, Art succumbed to cancer this past July. Was so ironic my

Spyder had been towed to where Art worked a week before he passed.

I had inquired about him, and they said he'd been out since the

beginning of the year with a serious illness. Had I known how serious,

these videos would have been made so that he could enjoy them.

During the three weeks my Spyder was being repaired Art Wood passed

and I missed the Celebration of his Life at where he worked.

If you ever visit Berts Mega Mall you will see this mural on the wall

Learned from Lou at West Coast Spyders, about Arts fate, and the ride

he was planning in his honor. Needed to know more so then I

googled about Art and found his Facebook page. Started reading about what

he was going through this past year and how he said he hadn't been religious

before, but a friend helped him discover the Lord, and that had helped

to provide him much comfort in such a tough time. Heck I even read

where Lamont posted encouragement. After learning that SRA president

George (pincushion on SpyderLovers) was able to attend his Celebration,

and that Lou of WCS was going to have a "1st Annual Art Wood Memorial Crystal Lake Ryde".

Immediately jumped into looking at all the video I had. My goodness,

I had a lot of Art. One problem that kept me from doing this 4 years ago

was that I did not know how to edit with multi-cam. Well it was about time

I learned. Please enjoy the Tribute to a real special person.

Had the privilege to interview both Art Wood (AWOOD)and his boss Ron Seidner of Berts.

There were more short interviews, with George Parry (pincushion),

Brian Zane (Desert Spyder) and Ken Miller. Was really testing the

waters to see if I would become a famous reporter. After these interviews

I have since put down the mike :D:opps:

If interested in viewing you can visit my youtube page as I no

longer have a website (long story for another day)

my youtube page is t (https://www.youtube.com/user/TheSpyderChannel/videos)hespyderchannel

There are no ads as I am not selling anything, this is a hobby,

just for enjoyment. But have been told they are quite good:p

And last but not least if you read and watched and made it all

the way down this page to here, you get the desert. The icing

on the cake or as one might say bloopers and outtakes. So

please enjoy and say thanks to Art, I am sure he is watching!

I really wanted to be there... His rides he did every year had over 50+ Spyders every time I went.
Alas I was out of town. This is one ride I would have been there for if I could have.

Art was a great guy. Thanks for sharing this Ticketbait!
