I am just wondering if anyone has installed the 4 1/2 wider windshield on there RT or RT-S and if so does it how do you like it, good or bad. My wife gets a lot of wind noise and also soaked with rain if we get we get caught in the rain while I don't notice it in the front. Custom Cruiser MC parts sells a windshield that is exact fit replacement only is 4 1/2 wider and says it increases the air pocket around the rider and passenger that my wife would like. Just wondering if what others experiences are before to help me decide if its worth buying. thanks in advance. Gary

I ordered the wide wind shield from Big Bike parts (custom cruiser mc parts). I received it today and installed it, (very easy to do). I haven't tried it yet as we are getting light rain here today in middle Tennessee for the first time in about 8 weeks so I am thankful for the rain and will try it out tomorrow and let everyone know how I like it. I got it for for $123.95 along with free shipping, quite a bit cheaper than the F4 wide wind shield so that is why I went with this one.

I ordered the F4 wide windshield with a vent. I wanted the vent but was unsure about getting a wide windshield in that here in Alabama I want all the air I can get most of the time.

Can-Am Spyder RT/RT-S STOCK WIDE "Clear" Windshield w/ VENT (http://f4customs.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=88_115&product_id=301)http://f4customs.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=88_115

Good news - I don't feel extra buffeting from the wider windshield, I don't notice less air (although I do keep the vent open), and I definitely have better hand protection from the wind. I haven't had a chance to use it in the rain yet, but I expect I'll stay a bit dryer.

For the back passenger, a lot of the air comes from behind so I don't know how the wider windshield will affect your wife.

had the same problems as you are having. switched over to an F4 tall & wide. wife was happy after that. put one on our original 13RT. sold it with the bike. purchased the 15RT and put same windshield on that bike.

the only advice I will give you is this. keep your old windshield!! had to replace the bushings on the windshield last year. it would squeak and rattle at times. BRP covered it. got a squeak and rattle back again several months later. took it to dealership and went round and round with them and BRP.

bottom line is that BRP will not stand behind their own warranty when it comes to parts. it should have a one year warranty on those parts. the reason they give they will not stand behind their warranty? because i have a larger and wider windshield than the stock windshield.

never mind that I had the same F4 windshield when they replaced the parts late last year. :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: :banghead::banghead::banghead:

I have a stock height, +4 width that I purchased from Value Accessories. I loved the protection that it gave me. It actually has the open cut-outs just like the stock one. I later purchased a +4 width, -4 height one with a vent and tint. I think this will be my year round shield. It is short enough to give me air in the summer, and wide enough to give me protection in the winter. The advantage of the one from Value Accessories over others is the price, and the fact that the cutouts work just like the 2014 and up stock shields. No buffeting at all.138799138798

:agree: I'm keeping the old windshield in case the movement arm, which has broken on a number of RTs, breaks. I can slip the old windshield back on the avoid the very issue you're facing, and swapping out the windshield is really easy.

Sorry for your issues, particularly since BRP sells a wide windshield. What's the difference?

My wife and I both upgraded our windscreens to the vented taller and wider ones at spyderfest last year. Love them.

I agree. I've got the same F4 screen on my 2014 RT LTD. It's fantastic for wind and rain protection.

I have the F-4 wide and tall, with the vent. It's great protection. Leaving the vent open helps eliminate the wind blowing from behind because it fills the vacuum.

I purchased the 4 1/2" wider one from Bog Bike Parts and love it. I reduces noise and wind a great deal. It was listed for $133 and I had a 10% discount a so it was $122. I think I will go back when the weather starts gets warmer again.

I put an F4 tall and wide with vent on our 2014 RTL. Wife loves the no buffeting and I love not having rain hit my hands. We get lots of cold this time of year here north of the 49.
I went for service the other morning, dealer is 50 Km from me and it was -3 Celsius so I loved my big F4 windscreen a lot!!

The F4 is 5" wider and 3" Taller. It is optically perfect and sheds rain very well. This is very important when looking through a windshield. Also our proprietary coating makes it very scratch resistant even when rubbed with steel wool.
Kim and I ride with the Plus 3 and she loves the ride from the passenger seat and loves it when she is driving.
All F4 shields are made from high Optics Polycarbonate so no worries about breaking if you take a rock or retread strike.
We would love to earn your business.
