Okay SpyderLovers, this ride is no longer tentative. I have made my reservations at the Travelodge Bonadventure at Niagara Falls, ONT We got a great rate for booking 14 days or more in advance. With Taxes and everything for both nights we are paying $112.98 CAD which today translates into $90.17 US.

Details: We are leaving Grand Blanc MI on Friday April 17th (time to be determined) We will cross into Canada at the Port Huron/Sarnia border. We will be meeting with Director (Bruce and hopefully his wife) place to be determined yet. Bruce will be guiding us to Niagara along the scenic route instead of the highways. There are no specific plans in Niagara Falls other than to enjoy ourselves and visit with one another. I would like to have dinner on Sat somewhere all together though, I think that would be nice.

Jeuchler (John) and his wife Barb will be meeting us there from Mass. If all goes well he will have the SpyderLovers banner. We can all sign it there. On the ride back, it will go through Ontario and maybe we can see if some spyders want to meet somewhere on Sunday in Ontario to get together to sign the banner.

If anyone wants to meet us there or join us for any part of the ride, just chime in. As soon as I hear from Bruce the route he is taking, I will post a google map link so you can see if you are anywhere near it.

That is great, can't wait to meet you. If I find a decent place for dinner and a time, I will try to get that arranged first so we have a def. dinner plan. Also I will try to get an idea of any Sat. Activities. I'll let you know. Pretty much everyone can play tourist as they would like but it would be nice to get a ride in and spend some time together.

Ha!

Well, after an eight hour ride my hands will be numb.

So either she'll get a great massage, or a really lousy one...

So does that mean the casino won out for lodging? Just asking.

Um...Nope.

We want to save the $ for tourist-y things and good food.

We can't get out of work early enough Friday, so we'll leave at dawn on Saturday but we might still make it for dinner with you all. I got the reservations for Saturday night and Sunday night at the Travelodge--thanks again for the recommendation!

(I'm glad I put on the new RAM mount, AirHawk, and hood spring this week! Gotta load up on RideOn.)

Okay folks,
This is just an idea and of course we will play it by ear depending on the weather. I am thinking we can meet at the Travelodge at 10:00am and plan a ride along the Niagara River/Parkway or whatever it is called. After the ride, we can just play tourists and do our own thing, visit, shop, sightsee or whatever. We can plan on meeting back at Travelodge around 6:00 or 7:00 pm for dinner. If anyone has any suggestions, I am wide open. I also sent for info on Restaurants on Lundy Lane. Also, after dinner we can have our SpyderLovers Banner signing. How does this sound to everyone?

I checked it out like you suggested and there were some great reviews and some not so great reviews. But I have learned that you can not depend on those on line reviews. Usually more people with complaints are more likely to come on and give a review then those that left happy. Also, from personal experience when we had our UP ride last Aug. We were told by a number of people to go to Antlers up in Sault Ste Marie. Both Brian's dad and my dad had nothing but good things to say about it. Others in our group were familiar with the restaurant. We got there and the service was awful. The food wasn't bad, once we finally got it. The atmosphere was pretty cool but not enough to make up for a horrible dining experience.

So, all that being said, and not having any other ideas, I say we plan on Sat. night dinner at My Cousin Vinny's

We just looked it up and the reviews are either "love it" or "hate it". :dontknow: Seemed like some of those who didn't like it complained that the food was bland but that works great for dltang as she likes her food to be more bland instead of spicy. I think its a go for My Cousin Vinny's.

Here is the link to the google map for the route that the Director has planned for us. If you are anywhere near this, please plan on joining us for the ride and just to say hello. We will probably be leaving London between 12:30 & 1:00 I am guessing right now.

Route to Niagara Falls (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=London,+ON,+Canada&daddr=King's+Hwy+403+to:Route+54%2FBrant+County+Hw y+54%2FKing's+Hwy+54+to:Cayuga,+Haldimand,+ON,+Can ada+to:Robinson+Rd+to:Creek+Rd+to:Becketts+Bridge, +On+to:Fenwick,+On+to:7737+Lundy's+Lane+Niagara+Fa lls,+ON,+Canada&hl=en&geocode=%3BFTKskgIdDr83-w%3BFZqLkQIdsoI6-w%3B%3BFcoJjwIdygtB-w%3BFUzvjwIdSvtB-w%3B%3B%3B&mra=ls&via=2&sll=43.082681,-79.120102&sspn=0.123621,0.177841&ie=UTF8&ll=42.960443,-79.3927&spn=1.981798,2.845459&z=8)

Sat. morning, 10:00a.m. I have a tentative Spyder ride mapped out. Now remember, I am not from the area and I am going solely off of google, so if you have something better, by all means, please chime in. Here is a link for what appears a nice morning ride. Morning ride in Niagara Falls (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=7737+Lundy's+Ln,+Niagara+Falls,+ON,+Canada&daddr=Montrose+Rd+to:Montrose+Rd+to:Four+Mile+Cree k+Rd+to:Niagara-ON-the-Lake,+ON,+Canada+to:Queenston+to:River+Rd+to:Chipp awa+to:7737+Lundy's+Ln,+Niagara+Falls,+ON,+Canada&hl=en&geocode=%3BFSTFkQIdw6hI-w%3BFebzkQIdH6ZI-w%3BFSnDkwIdd5ZI-w%3B%3B%3BFQ7CkQIdPKJJ-w%3B%3B&mra=ls&via=1,2,3&dirflg=ht&doflg=ptm&sll=43.06337,-79.046974&sspn=0.117891,0.298691&ie=UTF8&ll=43.080048,-79.059849&spn=0.058929,0.149345&z=13)
We are planning on meeting at the Travelodge at 10:00am and when we all gather, we will head out. That should put us back there late morning or early afternoon. Everyone can play tourist and meet back at Travelodge around 5:30 and we will leave from there for My Cousin Vinny's for dinner. We can just take it from here and see how it goes.

I am really sorry that I will miss this one. As I said earlier, I'll be up in Collingwood for the weekend. If there is any chance that some of you will be around on Sunday afternoon, or evening, I'd surely like to catch up with you.

I sure wish I could make this trip, but unfotunately I'm not be able to go at this time. Niagra Falls is a fun place. I took my kids there about 5 years ago and we had a great time. We visited Marine Land while there and my kids really liked Cliffton Hill, which is a street in Niagra Falls that was a lot of activities with arcades, food shops, museums ect. We also took a ride on the boat "Maid of the mist" which takes you right up to the foot of the falls. When we went it was in the middle of the summer and it was a busy place. Again, I hope you all have a great time. Enjoy!

We used to go skiing in Collingwood when I was a kid, at Blue Mountain. bjt and I will be coming home back through Ontario with the banner on Sunday, don't have an exact time yet but maybe we can plan a meet if ti works out. We will headed back via the Sarnia/Port Huron border crossing.

The last I heard (which was last night), he said, "We can't go to Niagara Falls this weekend, because we have to do bla-bla-bla-bla...."

(So now I want a little smilie guy who is sticking his fingers in his ears.)

First of all, I think that would be great if John and Barb could make it over on Friday night, you know you want to.

Nudle thanks for the encouragement on the ride route I posted. I think it will make for a nice morning. It may be a bit early to be hitting the winery's though. Looking forward to meeting you.

Can't wait to see all the new SpyderLovers that I haven't met yet that are going to join us for this banner signing and dinner.

Dinner at My Cousin Vinny's sounds like it will be a very nice time.

I am thinking the 5:00pm meet up at Travelodge before dinner will be the best time to sign the banner, I think the most people will be together at that point in time. Alas, our ride escort through Canada, (Director) has to leave early Sat evening.

I can't wait to ride with Bruce and Gail again as well. Being escorted through the countryside of beautiful Ontario.

Most importantly, spending a wonderful weekend with my husband of 21 years, whom I love very much. I thank God for him regularly.http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Love/i-love-you-190.GIF
