Looks interesting.

Anyone know what the motorcycle is in the second picture? It has brown leather saddlebags.

The other way around. Atlantic City, NJ to Carlsbad, CA, but yea it's cool stuff.
The pre-ride events Thursday and Friday prior to the start on Saturday morning was fantastic.
The technology for the time was insane.

Does anyone have a link to the rules for these runs?
From what I've seen: I assume that the bikes have to be from an earlier era? :dontknow:

Eligible Machines.........This will be a difficult ride, only the best machines should be considered for it. Much will have to be done to your machine if you decide to run the cannonball. No motorcycle built after 1916 can run for the prize. The machine must be powered by an original engine. Many things could be changed on a machine, and updates made for safety sake, but the core of the machine must be 1916 or earlier.

I had no idea this was coming through Bloomington. Would have loved to stop by and see it. Very cool!

Motorcycles built before 1916?? Wow!
I didn't realize there were that many in existence....very cool!
That does put it in perspective for sure!
I can't imagine going across the U.S. on a machine that old.....not my cup of tea, but sure is cool. I would LOVE to see that in person.
