The last "Caswell Riders" hosted event is Oct 22 in Mora. It'll be a morning of ryding followed by a season ending Pot-Luck lunch.

But I like ryding too much to wait until then.
Therefore, I have a couple more rydes in mind.

This past Saturday, Sept. 10, was an ad-hoc, short notice, nearly 500 mile, long way around ryde to Hayward, WI. Fun was had by all.

Next Saturday, Sept. 17, is the bi-annual Flood Run http://www.floodrun.net/ from Lakeland Shores, MN to Winona, MN along both sides of the river where you can share the road with 30,000 two-wheelers. The link explains all the details. It's not for everybody, but I have fun with it.

I'd like to get another Spyder group ryde together the weekend after that, on Sept. 24. I have created a Facebook "Event", simply because I could, on the Minnesota SpyderLovers group page. This, again, will travel north along the St. Croix river. Except it'll only be about a 200 mile round-trip with ice cream in the middle.

Then finally, I'd like to get a "Fall Colors" ryde going down along the Minnesota River. Starting from Chaska then to Mankato and stopping in New Ulm for lunch. Right now, I'm thinking Sat. Oct. 8th. More details about that one later...

Then two weeks later is the Final Mora ryde.

Please mark your calendars accordingly.

Just a bump to remind everyone that the ryde planned for this Saturday is still on to http://www.burnettdairy.com/

The weather forecast for Saturday keeps changing everyday. So bring your rain gear and a full tank of gas.

We'll start at 9:30 AM from Point Douglas Park across the river from Prescott, WI. From there, we'll go north taking Minnesota's St. Croix Scenic Byway through Afton, Stillwater, Taylors Falls, and Rush City. Once we hit Hwy 70, we'll head East to the creamery. Then we'll head back down the Wisconsin side through Star Prairie, Somerset, and Hudson.

Arrive early to socialize, meet new friends, talk about Farkles, etc...

There is another group ryde in the works for this Saturday, Oct. 1st.

We'll meet up at Firemans Park in Chaska (https://goo.gl/maps/mvNXK4FaRc32) with departure plans for 9 AM. Arrive earlier if you want to socialize, meet others, talk about Farkles, etc...

We'll head southwest along the north side of the Minnesota River going through Henderson, crossing 169 into Le Seuer, through Ottawa, and stopping in St. Peter for a break. Then on to Mankato and New Ulm while avoiding Hwy 169.

Lunch will be at the Kaiserhoff restaurant in downtown New Ulm: http://kaiserhoff.org/

After lunch, we'll continue along the river towards Morton, MN. And then decide on a route back towards Chaska. It should end up being close to a 200 mile round-trip (give or take) and back to our own homes by suppertime.

Any Minnesota SpyderLover is welcome to join us if you're interested and available.

We're going to talk about another ryde for the 8th. So bring your suggestions. If you can't make the ryde on the 1st, then maybe you can make it on the 8th, wherever that one takes us.

I just realized that the Ryders Cup is in Chaska this weekend. Hopefully, this won't be a logistics problem for us.
I'm still thinking of meeting at Firemans Park, but our return route may change...

Chuck,
Last minute decision, Val & I are going to join you from Cold Spring.
About an 80 mile drive for us to get there. Should be at the park at 8:30 - 8:45.

I'm planning another Ryde this weekend on Saturday, Oct 8th.
The weather forecast looks chilly and maybe a little cloudy, but they say we'll stay dry.
So dress warm, plug in your heated jackets, and test those heated hand grips!

I'm experimenting with a different starting point. (I'm going to keep trying until I get it right!)
This time, we'll depart from the Holiday gas station in Shakopee just south of Hwy 169 on the corner of Marschall Rd S. and 17th Ave E.
The Ryde will start at 9:30 AM. Arrive earlier to socialize.

We'll head south, taking back roads, stopping in Faribault for a pit-stop.
Then we'll take Hwy 60 East stopping in Zumbrota for a photo-op at one of Minnesota's last remaining covered bridges.
Then continue on Hwy 60 East to Wabasha where we'll grab some lunch. Not sure where yet.

Les and I were thinking that we'd like to visit the Eagle Center in Wabasha. Neither of us have been there. The cost is $8 ($7 if you're over 62). https://www.nationaleaglecenter.org/
After that, we'll head north on Hwy 61 into Red Wing. We could stop at Soldiers Memorial Park. There's a scenic overlook of the city of Red Wing and the Mississippi River Valley.

Then back towards the cites and home.

My route planning software says it'll be approx. 240 mile round-trip. Returning around 5 PM depending on where you live.

I hope to see you there!

Sounds good I'll talk to you later about meeting up. Eagle center is cool, haven't been there in a few years.

Well, Val & I would love to join you again, but leaving here at 7:30 when it's 30* just doesn't sound like fun!
Hopefully we can join you next time. Have fun and stay warm!

It's a fair question. But you'll have to do your own math. I'd like to start the ryde at 10 AM. Subtract backward the amount of time you want to talk and get aquainted. Carry the one, take the square root and multiply by PI, and that should bring you full circle.
