Ok so I've been looking around at getting some charging ports and a ram mount put in my gauge spots on my 2011 RT. (Gas and temp gauge) anyway I had a USB plug here and a ram mount. I just needed a cover or filler for the hole. This is what I came up with.

Everyone usually has a black paint can lid around. I know I do.

So I took the lid. And cut it up and here is what I came up with.

I like that. I put a volt meter in the one side but I think I'll use the ram mount in the other.

I'll show pics when mounted. But I'm using the OEM gauge bracket. And 3 inch closet door knob screws. The nut on the OEM gauge bracket works with those screws.

My only concern is will the paint lid be strong enough to hold what ever I use with the ram mount when hitting bumps.

Mounted pics

Make sure you get 3 inch screws. That's a good length.

More pics. To hook up the power and the ground. Just do the following.

Plus for those who are wondering. As soon as you unhook the gas gauge and temp gauge. The 2 gauges appear on your led display. Pic will show you at the bottom.

Very nice. I like the idea of using the old gauge mounting buckets. Thank you.

Will these be water tight.

They can easy be made water tight if you want to get a rubber washer to put around. Or some rvt silicon or something. But the way they tighten up in there. You're not going to get much water back there.

You can see how tight they are. Now I actually did them a bit to tight. That's why they are buckled a bit. But I think water should stay out pretty good.

Nice..... that is where I put my RAM mount but did it a little differently. Use a suction cup mount and modified it.
But this is also a good idea for people that just want to plug the gauge holes.

Yeah I got the idea from your video. But I didn't have the suction mount. So I improvised.

Thumbs up to you finless.

Your videos have been great.

How or what did you. Use to cut the lid so evenly and smooth?
