I am interested in possibly changing out the rinky dink sounding horn on my 2010 RT, with maybe a louder one. Even a car horn would be louder that what is on it now. And need to know where horn is located, how hard it is
to access and change, and if is the same connections on the horn as on a car.

On the 2015 RT the horn is easily accessable by removing the left side lower panel. I replaced mine with a VERY loud Stebel air horn.

I think on the 2010 it's a bit more difficult to get to, so I'll let those owners comment on that. Wherever it is, I do recommend the Stebel.

Buried, but, you can just unplug the wires, and plug into a better horn. It is below the fog light, toward the front a bit. Harvest the wires from below, leave the old horn . Move wires to the open area below the left headlight, under the black plastic panel. Put new horn there. Plug in, enjoy!

Pam, could you send me some details on your Stebel installation. What changes were required, ie fuses, relays, etc. My dealer says it is very difficult and does not seem interested in doing it. Pls send email to: scoot62@aol.com Thanks I have a 2014 RT L. George

Sure, will do!

I'm headed out the door for a ride, but I'll get to it later today or tomorrow if you're not in a rush.

I think there is a video from Finless Bob on the horn installation. I have added the Stebel to my 2014 RTL and love it.

Finless has a model prior to 2014 (2012 I think??) and the installation is completely different. It's way easier on the 2014 and later.

Hi George,

It's EZ on '14 and later RT's. New horn goes where the old POS was. I like using a Relay for full battery voltage and amperage. I also like the Strebel horn rather than the knock off WOLO. I have both( on motorcycles have compared them side by side, at the same time). Strebel wins.

A few moments of metal working and your happy with your new horn.

He has a 2010 RT so it will be the same as my 2011 RT video.

You have a 2010 RT which I'm guessing is the same, chassis-wise, as my 2011 RT.

Take a look at the DIY or How-to Step by Step Forum.

You'll have to go back to Page 5 to find it, to 08-28-2011, about half way down. "Mounting a Stebel Nautilus Air Horn on an RT".

The instructions are comprehensive and easy to understand and explain why the horn needs its own 20 amp supply through a relay.

I'm sure you'll find it's an easy job and worth doing.
