Traded in my 2011 RTS SM5 for a new 2015 RTS SE6. :) Sure hope I can get use to the way it shifts. I really enjoyed my manual transmission, and Elka shocks!

It's still in the box, and won't be ready to pickup for two weeks due to the dealer being closed all next week. Have plenty of stuff to do around the house!

Any problems, or things that I really need to watch for compared to my 2011?

What you need to do is brush your teeth after you ride
that will get the bugs out of them from smiling so much :roflblack:
Had a 2008 GS manual transmission
I have the 2014 RTL and it is the first semi automatic that I've ridden
I would not go back to the manual transmission
It took me a couple of days to get used to it but now I live it
As far as shocks I put BajaRon's shock adjusters on the OEM shocks and the work as well as the Elka's I had on my 2008
I also put his anti sway bar on

You'll get used to the SE6 quickly - just keep the throttle steady when shifting - I switched for the first time in 2015 to SE (using manual transmissions since the early 60's - cars, trucks and motorcycles). The fun of shifting with thumb and finger instead of hand and foot. Although it will downshift for you, I enjoy doing that myself.

What to watch for? FUN! But you know that already.

Like BeRight said, don't roll off while shifting.

Having ridden well over 200,000 miles on 2 wheel varieties, when I bought our 2015 RT-S I got one with the electronic clutch. My last bike was a FJR and if I ever go back (highly unlikely) I will looking for their version of the electronic clutch. I have pulled the left handle enough times to know that little paddle shifter is a gift from the road Gods.

Still patiently waiting till I get to pick up my new Spyder. Should be ready hopefully next Friday if things as planned. The wait is killing me. I did manage to get a few things ordered for it.

The only thing you should watch for is excessive fuel consumption because you will just keep on riding !!

Congrats on new machine and good luck

Hopefully if things go as planned I'll be able to pick it up Friday, if not sooner. But kinda doubt if it will be ready earlier in the week since the dealer has been closed since the 4th of July weekend. They open back up Monday morning. I'll be checking with them on Tuesday.

As soon as I pick it up, I'll post a picture of it.

At least I'll have some time to get use to it on the 2 hour ride home from on Tennessee. My wife said we could haul it back home on the trailer, but that just wouldn't be right. I don't even care if it rains all the way back home!

Good Luck riding your new spyder back home ( to Tennessee, ride safe out there!) And looking forward to seeing pictures.

I just got word from East Tennessee ATV that my Spyder is ready to be picked up. I'll be on my way the first thing in the morning. Should be a nice 2 hour ride home.

The only thing you should watch for is excessive fuel consumption...Boy, ain't that the truth! I still remember my trip to the beer store 8 miles away, and the dang thing consumed 54 miles worth of gas. ;)

Just picked her up this morning. She had 1 mile on her when I started my trip back to North Carolina from Tennessee. It was hard to keep the speed down on the way back, but I managed. Now I'm ready to get up on the Blue Ridge Parkway where it's nice and cool.

Next step is to install my gps, and phone mount. Later down the road, probably some chrome parts, and highway pegs.

See my painted dashboard. :congrats: looks awesome, nice pictures  Be safe, and have fun riding the Blue Ridge Parkway with your new spyder.

Deanna,

Your dashboard looks great! What type of paint did you use? That's something that I may have to do. Makes it really stand out.

Has anyone painted the rest of the black plastic around the handlebars?

Garb55,
My wife wants to know what a clothing heater control is?
