On another post someone mentioned that they never ride at night. I was wondering how many fellow riders do ride at night? We have ridden to watch the fire works and out to dinner at night. Wife rides the Spyder to work at 4:30 am. We pay attention to what's ahead of us, have fog lights on, and wait till we get home to have a drink. We find it enjoyable to take a quiet road to dinner. And besides how else are we going to show off our Tricled halo and saddle bag lights and our gloryder wheel lights. And wife has the radio blasting to warn all deer.

We have another friend that won't ride at night because of deer. Saturday at 9:30 am on our way to Elmira ny a bear stepped into the rode behinde the jeep in front of us. Because we leave room for reaction time, we were able to stop and watch. So things can happen at all times not just after the sun goes down. And I never get tired of hearing my wife carry on a conversation with any wildlife that stands around to listen. She thinks she is Doctor Doolittle.

Night like rain I ryde in when I'm caught in it. If traveling I have little choice and do find it enjoyable. But....I won't go out in either if I don't have to. Don't trust the night...:joke: or whats out there at night....

I don't have good night vision so I don't ride at night that often. But I will ride at night to go to dinners, etc, or when I'm out after sunset. If there's not much traffic out I find it relaxing.

Riding at night is the best in my book. Except in the winter when it's ungodly cold. But I still ride at night or in the wee hours in the winter when I need to.

Snow is about the only thing I try hard to avoid. Dark, light, hot, cold, wind, rain-you name it and I ride in it.

I work nights, so I am always riding in the dark. Pebbles likes to ride at night during the summer since it isn't ungodly hot out. She trusts me to avoid the animals and idiots on the road. I also ride year round. I bought my Cocaine to ride in whatever, whenever.

I normally ride during the day and mostly worry about the two legged animals driving at night. My wife loves riding at night, she is a passenger only.
But thanks to Harvey at SPYDERPOPS we are starting to ride more at night. With the bumper skid with lights in front and the rope lights in the back with the American Flag in the back it is hard to miss us.

I have been posting on this website for someone that has the Halo and GloRyder wheel lights, BONANZA!

Do you have any video of the bike or even photos?
How long do the Gloryders last before battery change out? Can you use rechargeables?
I have asked the manufacturer but they did not respond regarding video, photos or the battery questions.

I was thinking of doing the same thing with mine but cannot tell how much the halo is actually visible or it is just for static show.
If the Gloryders only last about 2 hours, don't want them if they last for 8 I can live with that.

Thanks in advance,
Joe

Certain times of the year I go to work in the dark and come home in the dark. Deer are a big problem in the Piedmont of NC. I still have excellent vision in the dark so far, when that changes it may limit night runs. Everyone that has a distance vision problem has more limited night vision in my opinion. My wife and daughter both have this issue.
If you don't feel comfortable riding at night ,don't do it.

I'll get the wife to post pix. I only replaced the batteries once last year. I am having an issue with one of the wheel lights. not wanting to come on till I take out battery and put back in. I will get with gloryder when I have some time. I would buy them again if I get another spyder.

I ride at night if I'm out and it gets dark but I don't plan night rides... Think drivers just don't pay enough attention when the sun goes down....

Love night riding.
:agree: I prefer late night riding - less traffic - no blinding sun - can be cooler in summer of course. Anytime of day or night many drivers are not paying attention and are a threat: cell phones, dash screens, GPS, legal and non-legal drugs, looking at others in vehicle while talking, radio, thinking of other stuff, etc.

Motorcycles are invisible to cagers - day or night.

 Poor night vision: I have NONE! :banghead:

I don't actively pursue riding at night; deer are also an issue around here also...
But if it happens: it happens!
I've upgraded to LED headlights and foglights, in order to improve my odds, and it IS nice to show off the lighting improvements!

I will ride in the night, I will ride in the rain, but I won't do both at the same time. It make EVERYTHING too hard to see and be seen. And I change the batteries in my Gloryders about once a year.

My Spyder is transportation, not just recreation, ergo, I ride day or night, whatever my transportation needs are. I will switch to the cage IF it is raining when I'm due to leave the casa or if the rain chance is very high probability.

I ride night or day. I prefer not to ride in the rain but I carry a rain suit in my spyder if it does.

I'll ride at night if the situation arises. I don't deliberately go out at night.
Given the choice, rain riding trumps night. (I have good raingear and LED lights).

Perhaps it's because many years ago I taught myself to ride a motorcycle evenings after work, but I actually prefer riding in the dark. :doorag::doorag:

You can go on longer rides, and explore new areas further from home, if you are willing to ride back after dark.

Riding along a country road with a full moon on a summers night is one of the most sublime experiences on two or three wheels. But no time to be complacent about the dangers, though; around town it's drunk drivers, outside of town are critters.

but we have so many deer, so many instances of vehicles hitting deer or vehicles being hit by deer, I cannot feel safe riding at night.
