If someone has hiked in Yellowstone, what trail would you recommend? I'm up for seeing anything, but bears, unless they are a good long distance away. We won't be camping; so, any hike will be a day hike. I have no physical limitations; so elevation and distance is okay with me. We will be staying on the outside of the park on the West side, more toward the middle.

Thanks

I have been into Yellowstone about a dozen times and have done many day hikes but I will be darned if I can remember any names lol. Just get a map and ask the Rangers, they will be glad to help. Beautiful place to visit. Watch out for the old alone buffalo, they can get very ornary (sp). Have fun and be safe.

While you're out there: if you see anyone trying to pull another bone-headed stunt like this one....

That's something to consider. I came upon a Buffalo cow and her calf. She looked at me with those big brown eyes, causing me to wounder if she was going to kill me or make love to me. Either way, it was going to hurt. Got out of there just in time.:pray::pray: Sorry, I wasn't in Yellowstone, so can't comment on the trails, I just love telling that story.

Can I get that pass at the entrance to the National Park? We plan on visiting both Teton and Yellowstone, and $10 would be quite the deal. Thanks for the info. I was thinking retired military got a discount at the National Parks, but they don't.

You can get the pass at the gate. Great deal.

Complete information here:

And if you wanted to get things all squared away before you leave, if you're not too far from Rome, it looks like you could take a drive over to the Fort Stanwix National Monument and take care of everything there before you go. (scroll down for New York locations)
Call first to be sure.

Have a great trip.

If you want to review trails before you go, check out:

http://naturevalleytrailview.com

Similar to Google Streetview, people walked the trails while taking 360 degree video. Broadband internet needed to view them.

Parks available are Sequoia, Grand Canyon, Smokies, and Yellowstone.
