Furtherb to my earlier post "Floorboards on the cheap" I'm pleased to post my latest farkle "Highway Boards on the Cheap"

I used a piece if aluminium 30mm x 3mm, bent it to shape to form a bridge between the splashguard and the previously fitted floorboard support iron, drilled and tapped the support iron in the detemined place, drilled a hole on the top of the splashguard and fitted a threaded insert similar to a drywall fitting but for sheet metal. Bolted splashguard to floorboard, now I have the support for the footplate. made a cardboard template, transferred it to thin MDF and finally to treadmark 2mm alumimium sheet, cut it out with my bandsaw (hand held jigsaw would do the job aswell), screwed plate to support wit 4mm panhead screws and nuts. Finally finished edges with chrome colour plastic car door guard.
Whole thing cost 25 euros start to finish. :2thumbs:

WARNING if you do this you must also put a 6mm block under the brake pedal to give enough clearance for emergency braking. anyone want the template I'll email it to you.
