I know that this has been discussed before, but I was at the dealer in Georgetown, Texas, and they had this sitting in the showroom. Very cool.

They are trying to get more police departments to use them. The main reasons that they are not adapting are: 1. egos get in the way. Why go to three when I've been on two for so long? 2. More difficult to get between cars and over curbs.

During Spyders on the Bayou the local Sheriff's department had two Motorcycle Officers there for traffic control. They were riding Harley's and were offered to take an F3 for a test ride. They both had the biggest smiles on their faces when they came back. They thought they were great

The complaints I've heard are too wide, and too slow. I'm sure ego plays a role, too. Hard to go thru a gate.
LANE SPLITTING!

To wide and slow I thought that was what radios were for. Sure narrower than a car but I can understand just think the stability would make up for a lot of that. :sour:

On the negative side, am guessing that egos may play a part.

On the positive side, I see three wheels as more stable (safe).

On the plus side is that you have a whole lot a room for an extra box of donuts.:2thumbs:

Too Slow??? I have owned 4 Harley's. Definitely not too slow. It's Harleys coolness factor that the Leo are afraid to loose. The Spyder has too many pluses for cop duty.

We were at the Can-Am booth at the NASCAR race in Los Angeles last week and they had a police display spyder there. But it did have Ontario license plates. I see the spyders being great in parades, funerals, etc. as well as everyday use.
