At what mileage does a spyder need to be tune up for the first time?

What do you mean by "tune up"? I suggest you check pg. 119-121 of the operator's guide. The 3,000 mile initial inspection is a lot of check ups, many of which are routine pre-ride operator actions. An oil and filter change is not a tune up. JMO.

Thanks, I've had my Spyder since October and I have around 1500 miles on it.

There really isn't any such thing as a conventional 'Tune-Up' on the Spyder. No carbs to adjust, timing is fixed and controlled by the ECU, valves need virtually no maintenance if cared for properly (read lubrication). No points, no condenser, no rotor or cap.

You will need to change the ignition wires and spark plugs somewhere between 15k and 20k (average). The air cleaner will need changing eventually as will the fuel filter. It wouldn't hurt to run some fuel/injector treatment in the gas tank on occasion. But unless I've missed something (and I am sure someone will let me know if I have). That's about it.

I cannot determine which flavor of :spyder2: you have. Is it the twin cylinder or the triple cylinder version?

Twin cylinders need their first oil change service at 600 miles.

Triple cylinders need their first oil change service around 3000 miles.

Baja Ron has you covered on the other things.
