Quick question for those of you who own Spyders with the "satin finish" (aka non-gloss)...I assume you don't use conventional wax on them. What DO you use? Thanks for your help.

Wash it and dry it off.

If it's the same as the Harley Black Denim paint use dawn dish wash detergent then a blower to dry it. No wax.

I use Honds Bright to remove my oil oil finger prints from checking engine oil from white:yikes:.

I use Palmolive dish soap and then chamois dry. That's it.

As much as I like shiny stuff, and never really was a fan of the satin finishes, the actual care of this paint may have me rethinking things. I have grown a little lazy and don't find the thrill of waxing a vehicle like I used to. I may have to give the satin finish a try on my next one.

The satin finish is great until you scratch or chip it. I think I'd rather wax once or twice a year.

Because anything with a wax in it like a car wash soap will ruin the satin finish by putting a shine on it.

Using a dish detergent on any automotive finish is ill advised. They contain degreasers. Dawn is the highest. Just saying. Tom :spyder:

Meguiar's quick detailer in the maroon bottle. I use it on everything including the denim paint on my Harley, should be fine for the satin spyder paint too. Works fantastic on everything.

Yesterday I did a complete wipe down on Black Bandit and what I found works best is if I spray my microfiber towel first and then do the wipe down. Seems to work better than spraying the panels. And we just got the aerosol back in stock and that's what I use.

I wouldn't use it if it didn't work and I wouldn't promote it if it didn't work. The only reason my name is on this product is I believe it's the best product for detailing our bikes and I've used them all.

All those soaps remove wax. I haven't washed mine yet cause I'm deathly afraid. But when I grow a pair, I plan on using boat soap. The same as I use on my boat. It doesn't remove the wax.

Ha, just pulling your leg. No harm intended. Sort of like the Pepsi guy having a Coke.
