I am looking into a comm system and came across the Uclear HBC200. I wondered if anybody has any experience with one of these. I am really thinking this looks like a pretty nice system. Thanks for helping!!

We have the Scala G9's that have worked well but Zoozmc.com has some real nice units I am thinking of going to. Herer you will see mostly the Sena, we have a sponsor, and the Scala's....

I use UClear & think it's great!! In fact, I went out & got a few extra units so I can communicate between bikes as well as with my pillion, & I've even set up one unit as a remote communicator for a chase car - works well!! So well in fact, that if I'm using the phone while on the Spyder or bike, I often hafta tell the person on the other end that I'm mobile, cos they won't know/be able to tell!!

The only issue that I've come across is that sometimes when I charge all the units, the very next link-up occasionally takes a few goes to connect?! Not sure why, but it only happens when I've charged all the units I'm trying to connect. They go for a few days of fairly solid use between charging anyway, so it only happens infrequently that I've charged more than one at a time, & the link-up issue only occurs sometimes, so it's not a biggie, just something I've noticed!!

Great comms, easily expanded, simple Bluetooth connection to just about anything Bluetooth enabled, & less intrusive than most - the combined speaker/mic units work very well & fit neatly into your helmet, & you don't hafta worry about a boom mic getting in the way or ever have hassles with picking up extraneous noises (but it clearly picks up your voice!)

Enjoy!!

I have the UClears HBC200's and love em! Very enjoyable to ride with others and be able to talk to each other if someone needs to stop for gas, etc. Easy to add mics too! Just need to remember to run them on the same firmware version. Very portable and works well bluetoothed into my Samsung Smart phone for calls and listening to music.:)

Really appreciate your replies. Hard to find people with these around here. What kind of helmets are you using and are you using just the earpiece for the mic? These units seem almost too good to be true! Thanks again for your help!

I'm running a few different helmets; a couple of Shoei's, a Shark Evo III, & a CFMoto. The units I run have 2earpiece/mic's (one unit per ear), basically a flat speaker that has the mic built into the forward edge & wires that run back under the helmet lining to plug into the streamlined UClear unit mounted on the side of the helmet. The speaker mic's just stick (Velcro) onto the liner of the helmet where your ears will be, the aren't any more than 1/4" thick so don't flatten your ears (l wear my glasses & sometimes my hearing aids too, but still haven't ever got sore ears from them) & if you were concerned, you could simply cut or trim a small section of liner out to give yourself more room anyway!! The CFMoto helmet was never made to take an in-helmet comms set; it is an open face helmet that is quite (read very) tightly conformed to the wearer's head, but the UClear speaker mic's are slim enough that once stuck on to the liner in the right spot(& they are easily moved/adjusted too) they are really pretty much un-noticeable!!

Oh, btw I now boast a 'military style industrial deafness' mod/severe hearing loss requiring the wearing of bi-lateral hearing aids just to hear close, normal conversation in normal/quiet conditions, but the UClear speaker mic's can be fitted in exactly the right spot such that the volume is better than adequate for me to hear even over the modded a/mkt(read loud) muffler noise, so much so that I rarely bother wearing the aids while riding; altho if I'm only doing a short trip or travelling in a group with lots of stop/start socialising, it's no issue at all to leave my hearing aids in & still have no pressure issues!!

Over the years I've tried all sorts of other comms units, in-helmet speakers, mic's etc, & really, these UClear units are just so much better & clearer, both for me listening & for others hearing me via the mic/comms or over Bluetooth phone connections etc, that there is no direct comparison!! Nothing else I've ever used comes anywhere near the UClear gear!

I have the UClear, they may be great for commucation with other riders in a group, I cannot say because I never did that, I used mine to communicate with the wife on the back of my ride and she had a lot of echoing, I reach out to UClear and they sent me a Mic for free that said it would clear up the problem, it did not. Now this problem could have been with the helmets that we were using, not sure, but I gave up and bought the Sena20S, If you would like to purchase a used set of UClear I will sell them to you at a very good price.

Ride safe

My wife and I have had ours for several years, last summer my son and grandaughter rode down to SoCal , with my son on my wifes RT and my wife and I rode my RT pillon. We bought another set so we could all comunacate together and it made the 5 day trip very enjoyable, I had problems linking them up but my son is an engineer for Intel so he steped in and had no problem, The one thing I've noticed is if you have them too loude they have some feed back if you are too close together. All together we really like the system.
