I have a non-CanAm trailer that I would like to pull behind my 2012 Spyder RT but am having trouble finding a trailer wiring adapter to go from the CanAm 4-pole square-shaped plug to a standard 4-pole flat plug on my trailer. I was trying to avoid having to make a special adapter, but I can't find a standard adapter available for purchase.

This is the CanAm Spyder plug (approximately 1/2" square).

If anyone know of a standard adapter that might be available, please let me know.

The fastest and cheapest solution is to cut the trailer 4 flat in half. Put the 2 halfs together to make a homemade square 4.

Or I would recommend going to a well stocked autoparts store or a trailer supply store then buy a matching square 4 and flat 4 and wire up an adapter. The wire colors will match on both plugs so easy to figure out.

What I did was buy a set of each pig tail (only way to buy them that I know of) and connect them. Easy pezzy. I used butt connectors, heat shrink tube each wire and then put in large heat shrink tube. Has worked well for 3 years. Took about a 1/2 an hour.

Those square plugs can be bought .. Del City,Amazon and others. You will have to make up a adapter.. I had to do the same for the 622 trailer to my car flat.
