Is there any way to tell the difference between the black and the (I believe it's) black cherry colors? I am looking at one in a different state and the pictures I am looking at seem to have the "cherry" color in them.

Thanks,

If you are looking at pictures, it is difficult to judge the actual color. Most of the :spyder2: colors take on a slightly different appearance in the sun. Lighting, in other situations can affect the appearance of the color.

If the color is listed as black, that is what you will end up with.

The black currant color was around for about one year. In the sun, it will take on a purpleish tint.

They actually called it Black Currant....mistaken for black unless in bright sun.

:agree: You need to get the bikes out into some sunlight... then the differences are readily apparent!

Also, keep in mind that if it is a 2014 Limited, it will be black currant. The other color of black was called timeless black, and was only on the RT and RTS models.

There are a couple of people that ride with us in our group that have the black currant color bikes. They "look" black until the sun hits it just right and then you see that gorgeous color come out. Absolutely beautiful. I don't think that you would be too upset with the color.

:agree: to me, that would be my first choice of color on any spyder. My problem was that it only came on the Limited model, and my funds were limited at the time of purchase.

Thanks for all the help. The pictures of the bike are in the sun and it definitely has the purple tint to it so will assume it's the Black Currant which I actually like. Straight black not so much. And it is a limited so.... just gotta talk with my husband and hope for the best.

I had the Black Currant with my 2013 RTL and loved the color. You would not be sorry with it. when I traded it in for a 2015 RTL they did not have the Black Currant, my wife and I were disappointed. We got the 2015 in the Steel Black Metallic, it is really sharp and I am very pleased with the color on my 15.

I have a 2014 RT Limited and the Black with sparkly Cherry Red in it when the sun shines on it is very very nice.

That said, there is a gorgeous Blue on current RT Limited I like even better. Check it out.

The only decision you will be unhappy with is not getting one. :shemademe_smilie: Yes, she came home one day and announced that we were to pick it up on Saturday. Never looked back.:ohyea:

By the way 50 and sunny today, took a short ride. Gosh it felt good!
