I have a 2013 RTL that I'm having a problem with. Hopefully someone here can give me some guidance.

I can open the frunk with the electric switch without a problem but when I try to open it by the key it takes several tries before it will finally open. Then after opening it with the key and not the switch, it will open every time without a problem. But, if I then use the electronic switch again the key won't work for several tries.

Has as anyone had this problem before? My electric switch has broken in the past and if it breaks again I want to be sure that I can use the key. As it is now I'm afraid the key is going to break off in the ignition.

Thanks in advance:)

Also to add.... The key cable pulls from the left side of the latch. The electric switch uses a solinoid to push from the right side. The 2 might be getting hung up with each other.

In my tri-axis handlebar install video series (see the DIY section) part 3 shows how the latch all works and how to adjust it all.

Thanks, but the electronic switch is working it just makes the keyed switch hard to unlatch after using it.

Thanks, that makes sense. I'll check out the video again and try adjusting the switch. Now that I know how it is controlled.

Have you tried putting a very small amount of lube on the latch? :dontknow:

;) I always like to try the simple things first, and then move on to the point where I don't know what the heck I'm doing!
Good Luck!
