Buuut, from my Clock Collecting wife, this is the 'more proppa' version! :thumbup:
Grandfather clocks were originally known as 'Longcase' clocks until the song 'My Grandfather's Clock' became popular after it was written in the late 1870's & are pretty much any pendulum clock with a 10" dial & chimes that is over 6'3" tall. There are also 'Grandmother' clocks, they are much the same, just smaller & quieter, generally less than 6' tall, and 'Grandaughter' clocks that are usually similar to Grandmother clocks but of of cheaper construction & under 5'3" tall.....
