This comes up on Facebook all the time and I just made a video yesterday to show you can drill your key if you want without harm. I'll be adding this to the page I built on it too. :doorag:

Do you have any pictures of what the chip actually looks like?
(It'll show folks that nothing can get into it's "guts", and damage it...)

Know there are a lot of folks wanting to have a way to add a ring or add it to a key ring although I don't know why. I find the sheath works well and I don't like having other things danggling from it bangging things up. But for those that do this will help them out...:bowdown:

I thought about drilling mine when I had an Aw Shucks Moment. I left the key in some jeans, ran them through the washer/dryer, and thought the key would be ruined. It works fine.

I guess the outer covering provides some water protection, or else water does not ruin the chip. Anyone know which?
